We return every year for our anniversary and anytime in between when we can. We stayed in #65- Desert Willow casita this time. Right away, we noticed everything from the website, the property, staff and customer service was stepped up. They now have a Starbucks and snack store! We also took advantage of the spa services and it did not disappoint. Some notable staff that made our stay great were Laurie, Chayce and the new text messaging service! As always, we had a wonderful time in our private casita with pool and having food from the Fox Den. This anniversary was special because we now have a baby and brought him with us to LCDZ and it was his first time in a pool. It was a memorable time and a nice touch that the staff included was placing a pack and play in our casita. I found out that LCDZ is under new ownership and it shows. We can’t wait to return and try all the casitas!

Beautiful oasis in the desert. A bit of a throwback to the 60s and we loved it!! Staff were very attentive-service great. We were a couple-would be great for a multigenerational family vacation -maybe next time!

I stayed at this hotel a few months ago and had a wonderful time, so we were excited to come back. Much to our dismay, this time was VERY different. For the same price as the last time I was given a considerably smaller room with no updates. The toilet seat was falling off, wallpaper peeling off the walls, filthy scuffed and damaged door (on the inside), dirty floors, a tv that didn’t work and crickets on the floor and in the ceiling beams making tons of noise. I immediately let them know and was told I could switch in the morning. Despite going to the front desk shortly after they opened at 7am, I didn’t get a new room until noon and my family was unable to unpack or relax. The pools were full of bugs, I killed multiple crickets and cockroaches during my stay, the restaurant is extremely overpriced, AND they charged the full amount of my stay hours before I even arrived to the hotel (despite telling me I would pay at the hotel and if I canceled or didn’t show I would be charged for one night only). They agreed to then refund me the amount and charge me almost double because of the “rate change” between Hotels.com and their own rates. We will not be returning and I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone. It’s run like a cheap motel.

The stay at this property was very relaxing/quiet. Stargazing theater was a highlight for my family and I. We loved the food at Fox Den and at the surrounding small restaurants in Borrego Springs. Thank you for an amazing few days.

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was a beautiful resort, quiet and clean, service was wonderful. It was a family vacation- 2 high school aged daughters. We loved it.

Given wrong room intentionally without telling us due to overbooking. A/C in room didn’t work, took 3 tries for techs to fix it and barely worked. Was told fans would be put in room, yet nothing delivered. Complained 3 times and response was disappointing. Almost left the hotel to drive home 1.5 hours! We are a patient family but this was beyond acceptable.

My wife and I have been coming here for probably 10 times over the past 15 years. It's our favorite couple's getaway without kids, because it is incredibly relaxing. We usually relax by the pool, nap, do yoga, test the mattress (!), go for mild hikes, and do some stargazing. It's just SO relaxing! We have recommended it to a few friends and they have all liked it.

It was our 2nd time at Casa del Zorro. The experience is unique, the hotel is made of casitas for large parties or families while the hotel rooms are in multiple small condos around private pools. Basically, you share a pool between maximum 12-16 rooms with half of them having a patio right on the pool. It gives a quiet and privileged experience.
CAUTION: Hotels.com is promoting free breakfast while it's only for weekdays. So don't get fooled, if you book on weekend, you will see free breakfast but that's not right. And the breakfast is not cheap at all.

We went to Borrego for the meteor shower. We rented a "casita" with private pool. What a great location for relaxing with family! It is very private and "desert" beautiful. We were here years ago and were pleased to see how well maintained and updated it is. The casita has everthing you need for a longer stay: kichenette, multiple bathrooms, large living area, big screen TVs in bedrooms and living area and a private pool in the two-bedroom casitas. Of course there are many larger pools scattered throughout the property.
