Very hot which made the pool very useful with the kids. Spacious rooms. Gym needs updating.

I’ve stayed twice at this hotel, and both times the clean, contemporary rooms and pleasant, oasis-like atmosphere of the hotel struck me most. It was very quiet on our stay last Thursday. The staff and lobby have all the basics, there is a very nice pool, and a hot tub too, although the hot tub is tucked away in a separate small, enclosed area lined with tall shrubs - hiding it from the pool area. This wouldn’t be ideal if you were there with kids and wanted to use both at the same time (kids in the pool, adults in the hot tub) since there’s no line of sight. But that’s it for caveats - otherwise it’s a quiet, pretty, well-maintained hotel, and in an area full of the stark beauty of the desert. Plus, five minutes or less to the small downtown, where there are restaurants, stores, the visitor center and gallery etc. Eating at Red Ocotillo there was a real treat.

The lady at the front desk was very mean. I was traveling with my family and children. We reached the hotel at 1pm. The hotel was nearly empty when we reached there. So we were hoping to get an early check in, drop our luggage and head to the trails. The lady at the front desk said the check in time was 4 pm (the email I received said the check in was 3pm). She said our room is ready but if we want to check in before 4pm it would cost us an extra $30 as early check in fee. I am a frequent traveler and I have travelled extensively with my family for the last 20 years but never experienced early check in fee if my room is ready and the hotel is nearly empty. I can understand and I have paid a late check out fee but never heard of early check in fee when the room is ready and the hotel is nearly empty. Obviously I did not pay the extra $30. We left for the trail and returned after 4pm for checking into our room. The rooms in this hotel are dated with old furniture. I would not recommend anyone to stay at this hotel. There are better options available in this area and I will never stay again at this hotel.

Not a clean room. Very inconvenient, on the 2nd floor and they refused to change the room. We had a baby with us - difficult to take everything upstairs from the parking. Very disappointed for the price we paid. Over priced.

My family and I stayed 1 night after checking out the metal sculptures. We called to see if we could check-in early and they said yes! We were happy! The front desk staff was friendly and check-in was quick. The 1 bedroom unit was big with a separate living area and sofa bed, little bar area with fridge, the A/C worked well and the balcony was nice. My only complaint was that the A/C was super loud that I could not sleep. Other than that, we were happy. I would highly recommend and return.

Did not like that there was no elevator, im a mom with 2 young kids by myself and had to go back to the lobby to get ground level room because i couldn't carry everything up the stairs. Did like that it was very quiet and quaint, if thats what your looking for. But Not much for the kids to do orher than the pool which was still on thw cold side.
