Loved that post Christmas, many people were bringing their families for a fun family time. Everyone we saw was do happy and having a great time. Enjoyed a glass of wine in the bar/tv area in the eve! Others did as well.

It was our family's second Christmas stay. We loved it. Resort is beautiful and luxurious, nature is magnificent, staff is great.

Lowes Ventana Canyon has always been a great resort for a mini staycation for family or some alone time. The rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious. Staff is wonderful and very attentive.

Not at all peaceful…all families with little children. Pool was closed for the evening because one of them pooped in it. The other pool is filled with flies and no towels or service people to be found. Trash everywhere like a frat party. The area itself is beautiful.

My name is Esther Nortey and I have stayed at Loews 3 times in the past. This would be my 4th time and I am absolutely upset and I feel very cheated. First, we were given the last room on the 3rd floor tucked in a corner that was a long walk to the elevator as a mother, I couldn't subject my children to that long walk so I requested that my room be changed to something that was closer to the elevator.  I was given a room that apparently did not have a working air conditioner. After complaining to 3 different people, they sent an engineer to come and check and we could tell he was having challenges fixing it because the thermometer was not registering a cooling temperature. All this was happening around 12:30 midnight through 1:00 am. He finally told us it was a locked valve and he had fixed it so give me about 10 to 15 minutes for it to cool. It never did and we were very uncomfortable. I requested to speak to a manager and I was told she would call as soon as she comes in the morning. She never did until we checked out. When I complained to her, she told me she would take the resort fee out.  Why? Why does the hotel think it deserves my money when the service rendered was subpar? I am very upset and I will report this to the better business bureau if I am not offered at least half of my money back.  If you couldn't fix it, I should have been given the option to leave for another hotel but I was tricked into thinking the air-conditioning was fixed and needed time to cool.

Pros: outstanding customer service! Love the fact that you can take an excellent hike right off the property and the cute nature trail to the waterfall was fun to do for a family photo. Cons: Our upgraded room looking over both city and mountains has a parking lot in front of it, lessening the beauty of the view. Should have stuck with plain Mountain View. The main pool was closed for refurbishing, and we had hoped to lounge by it as our main event. The small spa pool was open, but it was not very luxurious. We wish we’d stayed at The Westin, but the hotel did compensate us for the inconvenience, hoping we will come back when the pool is working again.

Expedia and Loews Ventana Canyon FAILED to notify us that the pool was shut down. That was the entire reason we flew from Seattle to stay here! We got two rooms and my kids never stayed a night. They stayed with our relatives. I asked Loews and Expedia for a refund on the 2nd room and Expedia and Loews are still considering it. Seems like poor customer service.

On the whole we enjoyed our stay but several things really detracted from it: Firstly I had booked two rooms as we are a family with children. The rooms we were given were 4 doors apart. Yes we were there over a weekend but we checked in on Friday and left on Monday and most people seemed to arrive for just Saturday night aand the resort was not full so I do not understand why this could not have been resolved. We waited ages at reception while they checked but the answer was no. Secondly the rooms we were given were a good 5 minute walk down a very lengthy corridor so do make sure to ask for a room near the elevators. The design layout is not ideal.
