I stay there for business. This is a former Marriott courtyard so if you like courtyard you’ll like this property. I’ve stayed here a few times and manager is great. Staff is kinda hit or miss but pretty good overall. Housekeeping gals are very nice and rooms are clean and well kept. The lobby area and outside area are really great if you want to work outside of your room. But…the (Starbucks) coffee shop closes at 9:30 or 10am which makes NO sense. It’s really close to Mill street on ASU campus so you are within walking distance of some fun bars and restaurants. Two complaints… 1) The towels are HORRIBLE. They are like cardboard and made for children. I’m a fit 5’7 woman and can barely get it around me. 2) The comp lotion looks like a sauce pack from a fast food restaurant. Impossible to open and is barely enough to use on your hands. In a desert environment like Phoenix it’s ridiculous. Overall I would recommend this place if you're on business or for a short stay. Good value.

Nice place, kids loved it. Pool is great and have a Starbucks until 930 am! Mill Ave is a jump hop and skip away! ASU mountain as well is a great place to hike which is down the road! Overall great location great place and great price.

We usually stay at down the street, because we usually travel to Tempe to visit our kids (one is attending ASU now, and our ASU graduate lives and works in Tempe). We booked too late to stay at our usual hotel, so we booked at Sonesta, since they accommodate pets too! The Sonesta Tempe team, including Manager Justin (who see love!), went out of their way to ensure that we had a great stay during a busy weekend: The Boots Concert at Tempe Lake and the USC/ASU football game/ASU Family Weekend, which is why we were there! All the events took place within a mile or less of the hotel! Such a great property to stay at for anyone in town to attend an event, game or visit a kid at ASU! (P.S. They charge a lot for pets to stay with, but for those who hate leaving their well behaved dogs home/behind, this is a great opportunity to travel with them. Next time I need to hit them up for the dog bowls, they were supposed to offer us - I forgot one of my water bowls).

The location of this hotel is very convenient as it is walking distance to restaurants and Whole Foods. The room was clean and updated and very comfortable with everything you would need. The only negative thing I have to say about this hotel is that we got woken up each night around 1:30-2am when all the college kids would come back in. They were very loud in the hallways. They do have some ASU students living there, so I am not sure if that is the reason why it was so noisy, or if they just happen to be there during the same time as our stay. Other than that, very happy with the hotel!

I usually stay at a La Quinta or Holiday Inn Exp. This hotel was old and run down. Not the level I like. However, the staff were outstanding. The VA National Wheelchair Games were packed with special needs wheel chair bound patients and their families. The staff went above and beyond to help.

We are locals and booked 2 rooms for 2 nights each when our A/C went out. We chose Sonesta because we have dogs and needed a pet-friendly property. I was traveling in LV at the time and needed to get my wife, kids and pets to a safe place. After I made the reservation on hotels.com, I called the property directly to let them know that my wife (who is disabled and in a wheelchair) would be doing the check in. I spoke with Nakeyla at the front desk and she was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. She promised to make the check in smooth, and that is just what she did. My wife reported back with glowing reviews on her experience. I returned to town in time to stay the 2nd night until our A/C was back up and running. Thank you Nakeyla for making a challenging situation much less stressful than it could have been! :)
