Yesterday, instead of of my grandkids enjoying a stay a the local Aloft hotel I was told by their management to vacate the premises of their swimming pool and leave. It was so unprofessionally handled. Instead of taking the time to talk to me the assistant manager rolled her eyes and walked off. We’ve been there before, In all the times we’ve stayed there, no one ever said that enjoying our stay with friends coming over for a bit was not tolerated at that hotel. I was made to feel sooo unwelcome. Perhaps racism had something to do with her condescending anger. Why else would she treat me in that rude manner? We did leave the pool and checked out. So Families, grandparents Beware, the Marriott Aloft hotel does not want you there. Sad evening for my kiddos. I will never go back. Don’t want my grandkids to experience that for anything again.

The walls must be thin or the people on our floor were noisy. It was hard to keep out child sleep due to people laughing and talking until almost midnight. Additionally, the lack of door to the bathroom/shower made it a challenge to put and keep our son asleep. While we love the loft feeling we don’t recommend it if you have a child that needs the quiet to fall asleep.

It’s Alaska and I went in the winter. Nothing is really WALKABLE. But there IS an awesome specialty cheese shop that serves the best grilled cheese I’ve ever had barely two blocks away. As for the rest of the review, I’m more focused on the facility itself. Very clean, great service, and the WXYZ lounge never disappoints. Also love that the pool becomes adults only after 9pm. Can we enforce that everywhere please? As a proud child free adult, I need more of this in my life. Anyway, 10 out of 10 recommend.

For a family of four (with two almost adult teenage boys) it was a very loud room…the bathroom “wall” don’t go all the way to the ceiling and there is only a curtain for a door to the shower (there is two sliding small doors to the toilet but they don’t close all the way either). So if you want privacy while using the bathroom this isn’t the place for you. With that being said the amnesties were good, pool table and pool. Good location with plenty of parking.

Very unique hotel. The kids loved it! The only thing I didn’t like was the bathroom door but that’s a minor complaint.

The facilities were very clean and the staff was great! We found the lack of separation between the shower/bathroom and the entry/sleeping area to be uncomfortable. I had to send my teenage boys out of the room so I could take a shower. :( This room arrangement is not conducive for multiple families, families with older children, friends, or colleagues to share. There is no privacy.

This is the third time I've stayed at this hotel. The first two stays were both excellent, property is beautiful and staff is friendly and helpful. This time, though, i was really disappointed. The pool area was disgusting. The water is cloudy and there were large clumps of hair floating on the surface. There were serious issues eith noise during our stay. The entire time we were in our room we heard the shouting/banging/jumping of a large group above us. We initially wrote it off, assuming people were just having a nice time and would quiet down. Thankfully it did quiet down around midnight, but only briefly and then started up again at 2AM. It was so loud that it woke up my husband and one of our children, and continued for about an hour. We went to the front desk to complain and they said our only option was to move rooms--which seems a little unreasonable at 3AM with two little kids. Eventually the group above us quieted down, but everyone in my family was exhausted from the long night. I approached the front desk about the issue the following morning and the person I talked to was dismissive. Again, I've had wholly positive stays at this property until this one...I'm not sure I'll be back.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. There is shampoo and toiletries already available in the room so if you forget no need to panic. the coffee pot in the room is crazy small and coffee is week, but I survived. Pool is nice and hot tube is big. The bar is good with activities for the kids. I really like going to this hotel when I am in town. One of the best we have stayed in. Prices are far better than the rest for all the amenities they provide. 5 stars.
