Island House Hotel Orange Beach - a DoubleTree by Hilton

Beautiful place. Great location. Pool is great. Live music in the afternoon. Will definitely stay again and would highly recommend. Has a bar and food so you really don't have to leave if you don't want to. Only complaint is I feel like every other Hotel, they just can't get the AC working. The room wasn't uncomfortable but it was never really cool. There are lots of families and kids so I would say it was a little loud. You could hear everybody in the hallway you could hear everybody at the pool. This is not the place to sleep in and have a relaxing vacation. You can hear all the kids and families heading out in the morning, you can hear all the doors slamming, and you can hear the live music on the patio in your room. The hotel itself is very nice and clean and the staff was very nice.

Very nice beach front rooms with balconies. Permanent shampoo, conditioner & lotion provided, and xl towels. Booked 3 rooms & all had walk-in showers with detachable shower heads! The beds are ridiculously high & a potential injury risk for older people, children, or disabled. No free breakfast but nice on-site restaurant.

The only problem we had was being woken up at 6;00 am by the kids running and screaming down the hallways. Everything else was perfect.

Property has protential especially with its beautiful beach view! However, the balcony is super hot because the a/c vent blows there making it not enjoyable. I paid extra to upgrade our rooms & only one room was upgraded although I paid the same amount for both rooms. Front desk lady was rude when checking in. Rooms were stinky. Website said breakfast was included but we were charged $12/kid $18/adult. We'll never use Orbitz app or go back to this place again. I chatted with someone from Orbitz about the situation and nothing got resolved. Sticking with my Mariott Bonvoy app from now on.
