The staff at Celtic Resort were very friendly and accommodating to our needs, they were professional and provided an excellent service. The rooms were clean however the stay in the room was disappointing as the pillows were very uncomfortable to sleep on. The superking bed was two beds put together so you could feel the two mattresses in the middle. During our stay, there was an alert about fire safety checks, we were not made aware of this beforehand. It was a loud announcement and disturbed our baby whilst he was sleeping. I was advised to email the restaurants for halal food options for our stay however I didn’t receive a response, when I queried this with reception, they advised that it was too late to request halal options.

All staff so friendly and polite. Food quality was excellent and activities for the kids were great and well priced.

I have stayed here multiple times and I still always will recommend it to others, I think it offers a great all round experience for all the family however and they even provided a lovey treat for my partner in the room for her birthday. She was unable to eat them however as she is vegan but that’s no fault of the hotel . The main downside for us on this rare occurrence is the room we had was seemingly Ajoining with the neighbouring rooms and they were incredibly loud late into the night gone midnight. I even heard their phone alarms go off this morning at 6.30am. The walls are either very thin or the doors in between rooms offering insufficient sound deadening. It’s a shame as it was my partners first visit here , would have been nice if she got some sleep . An opportunity to come back and try again would be good in the future. Final note I think the car park fee is quite steep for people staying but I can live with it . Ryan

Our family with 2 kids under 10 had a great Easter weekend at Celtic Manor - lots of fun outdoor activities during the day and good bar areas / restaurant choice in the evening. Wife enjoyed her Spa treatments while the boys played in the pool. Perfect for a long weekend break!

The hotel overall is nice but there were a lot of small children running wild around the lobby area and bars. Not enough lifts to the floors and we were unable to book dinner in the hotel as all restaurants were fully booked at reasonable eating hours. The spa session was too short and had to be booked in advance.

So it's a nice hotel but not all that. Nothing more exciting than a Park Plaza or Novotel. Room a bit dated, cigatette burn or similar in the bath, activity room - marks all over the walls also on stairs. Iron in the room had broken plastic. No water in the room. Just looks like it needs a bit of TLC. Lift broken which causes queues. Paid extra for Easter activities which were a bit rubbish in a room far too small for all the kids and parents so didn't bother going to the second one..waste of £20.
Make sure to ask them to remove the discretionary service charge at dinner? which we did.
Positive: Dinner and breakfast were nice, grounds are lovely. Free chocolate fountain in the Foyer as it was Easter weekend.

We have stayed at the Resort Hotel a number of times over the last 20 years and each time over the last 7 years we hope it would be better. Sadly it gets worse and won’t be returning.
We appreciate it will never be how it was 20 years ago but really the prices they charge with an awful customer service makes the whole experience sad to say the least. Don’t get me started on every extra they charge (car parking to name the worse skim of £20 a night) is in my opinion a total con.
The breakfast is awful, the rooms are dated, we had a family room and the beds were small and very uncomfortable. I could go on and on but to be honest can’t be bothered.
The only plus was we visited the driving range where the staff were very friendly and the very high tech gadgetry were enjoyed by us all.

As we approached via the M4, the hotel stands out and got can't miss it. Following a steep uphill drive, we found the Roman Road car park (£8.50/night).
Walking to the hotel it looked very impressive, and the grounds are lovely.
Check in was efficient and friendly, and we were given family room on the 5th floor.
Unfortunately there are only 3 lifts, and one wasn't working (this appears to be an ongoing issue looking at other reviews), so the wait for lifts was about 5 minutes or longer at peak times, and very crowded.
When we entered the room, it was noticeably warm. At a glance it looked okay with 2 X queen size beds, however we noticed that one pillow was not in it's case properly, and the state of the pillow was very poor. We also noticed a hair in the bath, and the top of the TV was dusty, but overall not too bad.
The mini bars are no longer stocked, so if you want a drink in your room you have to order room service (with £5 tray charge).
There are 8 restaurants at the hotel - these need to be booked, and can get very busy. They are also quite pricey, and although they have children's menus, there are limited options if your child is vegetarian (seems to be either penne pasta with tomato sauce or pizza).
Snacks are also very expensive, with bottled water at £3.10, soft drinks at £3.50 and Twix / Mars at £2.50.
Buffet breakfast was very good, as was the burger & fries room service (around £21/head)
Pools nice, although limited slots to book.
Overall we had a good stay.

The resort is listed as a family friendly 5 star resort but it is more like non family friendly 2-3 star hotel. It was listed there is a games/ arcade room as well as kids club, when we arrived we was informed this was all closed down after covid! The only things available for kids was things you had to pay over the odds for, which had limited availability.
The room was listed as 2 queen beds but we got something like 2 single beds. Room was outdated and looks old. The cleaners was very pleasant and came every morning.
Room service was a joke, no one ever answered the phone . Waited over an hour for water which still did not appear, I finally gave up and just checked out and went home.
On the way out we had a ridiculous parking fee to pay, I mean who comes to a 5 star resort to pay for parking also? But then again we didn’t even get water in the rooms.
Over priced and overall terrible stay. Will not be back.
