Murrayfield Hotel

I bought a night at the Murrayfield Hotel for my very good friend for her Christmas. We checked in and was given her key for room 19. We were so excited to see the room before venturing out with family. We found the room very basic and tired looking. There was a stain on the white bedding, the curtains were very frayed. There was a stain on the seat at the dresser and also a stain on the box at the bottom of the bed. However my friend thought the breakfast was great. She was well taken care of and had a a great selection of continental and hot breakfasts to choose from.

Nice hotel for a trip with the family or friends

We had stayed at this hotel prior to Covid and service was friendly and attentive. Cleanliness was good. Restaurant had plenty of staff. But back in August 2022 we stayed for 2 nights at a cost of over £500 for a very small room. The housekeeping was shoddy. A torn sheet was put on the bed. Dirty coffee cups were not removed and replaced and tea/coffee was not replenished, we had to ask for more at reception. Bin was emptied but contents left in a plastic bag beside the bin and not taken away. The restaurant was covered by only 2 staff and we later learned that one of them was the hotel manager. Service was very slow and you could see they were struggling. Dirty coffee cups etc from other rooms were left on the windowsill in the hallway. Dirty towels & bedlinen were thrown on the floor in the corner by the hall entrance door. It's a real shame because other members of my family have stayed here in the past but we will not return or recommend. The charges are far too much for this kind of service.

We were upgraded to junior suite without asking for it. It was a lovely suite. Gorgeous high ceiling, large windows. Fire place. Extremely cosy. Very friendly staff. Will definitely stay there again.

We stayed in room 24 in the main hotel as a family of 4, 2 double beds that can be made up as singles. Huge room and very luxurious. Big 60 inch tv which we could sign into our Netflix account,ghd straigheners, robes, free water on arrival, biscuits.Whole hotel was lovely. Breakfast was just ok. We paid ten pound each which allows you to order anything from the menu plus help yourself to continental but not big selection. We ate our evening meal at hotel next door which had better selection for the kids. Hotel on the airport bus route just 14 min away.Will defo return

A fantastic service from the front desk and the restaurant staff. They had the baby cot ready for us in the room and both mornings they had a table made up and ready for us with a high chair for the baby at breakfast. Overall a very good experience.

Wonderful hotel, ideally located for the stadium, literally a couple of minuutes walk away. Room was huge (family room), bathroom was very nice but works better for couples - the glass doors right in front of the beds were a little weird. Breakfast was awesome, freshly cooked plus buffet option. Best value breakfast I've had in a long time. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Would strongly recommend.
