De Vere Tortworth Court

A great birthday celebration night. Drinks in the atrium were special , then out onto the patio. Dinner was delicious, although some guests thought it ok to let their child scream for about 20 minutes. We timed our coffee on the patio to coincide with the wedding fireworks. A magical evening

Beautiful hotel and very impressive however it is listed as a Spa hotel. We arrived on Saturday and was told we better quickly go and book a slot to have a swim in the pool. We also had no spa robes or slippers in the room and were told we had to buy these for £5 each. The pool was more like a large bath. Very small and with children using it was very noisy and no space to go into the hot tub which again was tiny, Very disappointing as we wanted to use the spa the following day but felt we did not want to as it was so disappointing. With the land around the venue they should build a purpose built SPA as it certainly lacks this element of the property. Sorry De Vere Tortworth Court it wasnt a good experience.

We only stayed one night - we came down for a family birthday. Comfortable room and a good breakfast.

Really nice place and staff really helpful also. Room was slightly tired in appearance but not too bad. The biggest issue for us was the bugs in the bathroom which seemed to be coming from under the bathtub and there was also broken glass on the floor in the bathroom when we arrived that our toddler could have picked up. These are minor things though as overall the place was great for us to stay and the gardens were good to sit in with the weather

We booked 2 rooms to cater for our family of 5 and we were given rooms that were literally a 10 minute walk from each other. The food was terrible at the Atrium and the service even worse. The breakfast food had the texture such that everything was cooked in the microwave. You need to have a car if you stay here as there are no taxis available and the reception staff do nothing to help. The hotel has daily conferences and weddings and little attention is paid to guests outside of these groups. I will never return to this hotel and will never stay at a De Vere hotel either. Such a shame as the building is beautiful and the grounds are lovely.

Smart good furniture clean good service excellent food only negative had deluxe junior suite however have had larger superior rooms at other hotels so was bit of disappointment. Grounds great easy parking good breakfast

Despite paying for a junior deluxe room we were given a very standard looking hotel room. The bed was so hard, we didn't sleep well at all on the first night. The floor looked more comfortable. Requested a dairy free and gluten free alternative meal for dinner. Staff said this was no problem. The meal came with chips rather than the requested boiled potatoes and there was no almond cream with the salmon which I was again told was no problem as this came with another dish. The staff offered me beef gravy to go with my salmon!! They eventually came with the almond cream just as I was finishing my meal. I did not want to cause a fuss Infront of the other diners so mentioned it to the staff at the front desk. The following evening the waiting staff in the restaurant approached me and as they were taking me to my table wanted to know what the problem was the previous evening- Infront of the other dining guests. Which was exactly what I was trying to avoid. I felt put on the spot and embarrassed. This was our 4th visit to this hotel. On previous occasions we had a fabulous stay, but the current staff seem poorly trained in customer service. There are noticeable cut backs since COVID, but all of those can be overlooked if the customer service was good. There was no welcome back greetings. There were several leaks in the roof leaving the corridor carpets very squelchy and the lift was not working. Will leave it a while before spending £750 on a 2 night stay at this hotel. Poor value

Amazing, felt like a real holiday break on our way to see family further south. We loved the outside garden areas & the tall ceilings in the music bar area. Staff were courteous & helpful.

Everything was great with just one situation which made the use of the spa tricky. My Son of 13 years has additional needs so not having a suitable changing facility for families was awkward. Fortunately other guests in the female changing rooms did not mind me ushering him into a cubicle. But it could have been an uncomfortable and embarrassing situation especially as his needs are hidden and people do often question or make judgment about him coming into female only spaces with me. Apart from that it was a lovely Birthday surprise for him.

Hi, bit disappointed with the quality of the room seeing it was classed as a deluxe junior suite. Overpriced based on what we received. Overall a lovely stay.
