Hilton Garden Inn Silverstone

The location is incredible & the whole vibe in the bar is really good. You can’t fault the view over the Hamilton straight from the room & the room is clean & modern looking. There are a few things to consider though. The carpark is a work in progress & if you’ve ever parked in public parking at Silverstone you’ll know the size of the stones covering it. It hasn’t moved on from that & some temporary metal railings so any form of car that might be your pride & joy needs to be careful. The room although clean & modern had a few flaws: 1) No hot water from the sink 2) The room had this air conditioning alarm right next to the bed with a green light that made it difficult for my other half to sleep so she covered it with one of her pillows 3) The design layout of the bathroom meant the shower & toilet were separate & the sink/mirror was out in the main area of the room. This at first glance was fine until you realised the toilet was the only room with a separate light switch. To turn on the light for the shower you had to turn on all the entrance lights. So when I was up early for an event & my other half wanted to sleep she couldn’t as I had to turn all the lights on! 4) The shower had a frosted glass window facing the bed! Fine if it’s your other half or if you didn’t want a lay in due to the light. But if it was a family sharing or friends sharing that’s a bit awkward when you can see them showering. Overall a good experience but some untested room ideas!
