Very noisy, banging doors & kids running around at 7 in the morning. Disgusting that I had to pay for parking after already paid for the room 😡
Would never stay there again.

We stayed in a family room with two queen beds for one night (a friday), 2 adults, 1 child. Visiting the area for a wedding.
Parking was a bit of a surprise; as you can tell from the photos the hotel is situated outside of town, it has its own car park and based on the hotels location I would not expect non-hotel users to want or need to use the car park - this being the case we were VERY surprised to find there was an additional daily charge for car parking. We also found the parking spaces to be quite narrow; We don't have a big car but it was difficult to get ourselves and our luggage in and out of the car with vehicles adjacent to ours.
The room was spacious but the decor was dated, furniture scuffed, stains on the carpet. No air-conditioning in the room, which is disappointing considering the prestige brand.
The beds & pillows were comfortable, bedding & towels clean.
We noted a (very small) amount of hair (shaving debris) around the edge of the bath and some dried-on soap on the bath splashback. Good selection of complimentary toiletries including shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, hand wash and moisteriser. The iron had been left with filled with water so when we moved it, it sloshed stagnant water over some of our wedding attire.
Wi-fi was complementary and of sufficient speed. Far too few electrical outlets for charging phones, tablets, etc.
The front desk staff were ALL lovely.
Overall, decent, but not competitive for the price paid.

We had an overnight stay in a family room which was very spacious, pleasant and clean. Staff were friendly. The hotel is situated just off of the motorway so it was a good position for us. Breakfast was rather expensive but we found a nearby Harvester which was great.

Overall, the hotel was good but with extremely noisy guest who turned the corridor to children playground and the management could not control the disturbances. For the records I also went with two children.

A very nice hotel conveniently located next to the M1. We used this as a 1/2 way stop between Newcastle and Brighton, and it was perfect for us. The rooms are not 5* glamorous as at some posh Hiltons, but still very nice (about 4* I say), and the pool and spa was definitely 5*, as was the restaurant. The pool was gorgeous, and had a hot tub, sauna, steam room and gym, and they sold children's pool toys in their shop. It was excellent! The restaurant was very fancy and had posh food and posh prices, but children eat completely free for both dinner and breakfast, so it more than made up for the prices. It was great and we enjoyed it. My only disappointment was that the restaurant didn't open until 7pm, and it took a long time to get our 3 courses so we weren't out of there until 9.30pm, which would be fine normally except we have 2 small children. I thought it could have opened earlier to cater for people with children. However, there are other restaurants nearby if you want to jump in your car or walk up the street a bit. The breakfast buffet was the best spread I have ever seen in a hotel, and I have travelled a lot! Wonderful!!! Overall it was an excellent hotel, particularly for a motorway stop, and I would definitely stay there again. 1000x better than a cheapie motorway hotel, and about the same price! Excellent!
