Stayed at the grand a number of times. Excellent location. Staff excellent helpful as always. Especially the room attendants. They went out of there way to help and always had a smile and a good morning. Would recommend this for families with pets.

Second stay and the staff have been consistently excellent. Late arrival was no problem and nothing too much trouble. Room was clean, generous in size and comfortable, extra heating supplied for the wintery condition’s much appreciated. The only issue we had was noise. Loud talking and even shouting, along with children running up and down the corridors both very early and very late at night was infuriating. But understandably not something the hotel can do much about. Worth keeping in mind if you’re after a quiet stay or need to get a decent nights sleep and your stay is during a busy time of year. Hotel etiquette and consideration for others is clearly lost on some guests.

A very pleasant two night stay with our dear spaniel, we also met up with family members who were staying at the same time. A nice big room with a good view of the car park (?). They were lucky and had a good view of the seafront. I think it was good value for what we paid, however there were a couple of niggles which did bother us a little: the first was the fact that although it’s a four star hotel you do not get a spoon in your room along with the kettle coffee tea and mugs, you get two small sticks. Frankly this is a disappointment. Additionally the hotel charges £10 a night for the dog, in theory we are okay with this charge however as nobody comes in to clean the room or change any bedding after each night, we have to ask why are we paying for each additional night and not per stay, because it looks to us as we are not getting any additional benefits. The hotel itself is very nice and it’s perfectly placed on the north east coast. We will be returning, however we will bring our own spoons!

On arrival we easily got a parking space. Check in was quick and painless and we were soon on our way up to the room. The room was a huge family room for the two of us, so over the moon at that. The room and en-suite were both spotless, and the state of decoration of both was very good. Everything that we would need or require was in the room (iron and ironing board, tea making facilities, safe, fan etc.), and also we had two huge TVs – one in the main room with the double bed, and another in the ante-room with the single bed. The room was also over-looking the car-park – another bonus as far as I’m concerned as I could see my car sitting below the window, which sort of gave me a warm, happy feeling. We both got a great night’s sleep on the comfortable bed with good quality bedding. Breakfast is in the conservatory looking out at the beach, which a really nice place to sit and eat, and there is plenty of choice. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and we would definitely stay here again.

The staff were superb! The location opposite the beach is ideal for families and for those who enjoy a walk on the sandy North Sea beach. Breakfast was very well presented and hearty. The rooms are nicely appointed too.

The outside is a little ‘tired’ but it was nicer inside. The staff were super friendly and helpful. We were staying there for a family wedding at the hotel and all was fantastic. Thanks 🙏

The hotel was convenient for everything on my trip and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. I was staying in the area for a family funeral so it could have been a little downbeat but David who I dealt with mostly made my stay a first class experience. regards Peter
