Alma Lodge Hotel & Restaurant

Hotel was spotlessly clean, beds very comfortable, food good, staff very friendly and helpful. Decor was very dated , foyer bar area despite being non smoking inside did smell of old ingrined stale cigarette smoke. The down side of own stay was the eating arrangements because we had a dog. Dogs were not allowed in restarant but not allowed left in room either, (not that we would have done that) . We were therefore banished to a separate table by reception to eat breakfast at. The second morning this table was being used by another dog family so we were made to sit in the entry corridor area to dining room facing the wall like naughty children. The waitress had pulled the table out of dining room to this area for us to eat. Have been in many hotels before where dogs were allowed in restarant. The room was virtually empty so even if we had sat away from kitchen, out temporary table was actually closer to kitchen door. Our room was also a very long walk from the entrance when dog needed toilrt. Not sure a provision of a water bowl by reception and charge of £15 a night for dog was fair when we couldnt even eat in the restaurant.

Comfy room, plenty space in the family room for 4 adults, clean and warm. Great breakfast.

Perfect as a base for visiting family. Stayed with a toddler in a family twin room. Room and hotel was very clean, buffet breakfast was great and staff were very friendly. The only snag was the shower didn't work very well but there was a bath as a back up anyway.

I have stayed at your hotel five or six times now, when visiting my son and family. I keep coming back as I find it to be just what I need and enjoy.,

My husband and I wanted to be in easy access of a family member in a Residential Care Home in Cale Green. Receptionist Sue was really helpful and copied the relevant area from the A-Z map. All Staff very friendly and breakfast was excellent. Our Room was spotless and quiet. Would recommend this Hotel 100%.
