Hampton By Hilton Newcastle

Checked in, went to room and we discovered the second bed was a child size sofa bed. This was basic, unclean and stained with bodily fluids, Returned to reception to be told hotel was full so would get a refund. After booking an alternative hotel I was informed that the hotel would not refund after all. I have been in conversation with hotels.com regarding this but still no refund weeks later. Disgusting. If you want a reception manager who is a liar, a room with a stained sofabed and no service whatsoever, this is the place to go.

What an amazing hotel!!! Very clean, high standard, attention to detail, in a ideal location. What was the cherry on the top though was most definitely the staff!! Reception staff were friendly, knowledgeable and made check-in/check-out quick and easy. The restaurant staff were the best I’ve ever seen (and I’ve seen a lot due to travelling with work). Food was amazing, so much choice for breakfast, even if you are a vegan like me. The gentleman who cleared the tables in the morning was by far the hardest worker I have ever seen. He did not stop the whole time, and he did so with a constant smile on his face. Thank you all at Hampton by Hilton. I will most definitely be visiting again soon, but next time I shall be taking my family.

The staff were very horrible, they wanted us to upgrade to a bigger room and pay an extra amount because they claimed the room wouldn't fit one adult and two children. When we told them we didn't want to pay an extra charge, they said they will check our room and came in in the morning knocking on the door and opening it despite there being a do not disturb sign. The next day the disabled our card and didn't let us into the room in the beginning. Worst service in a hotel.
