Holiday Inn Express Manchester - Salford Quays, an IHG Hotel

Great location and family friendly

Great stay, great location, breakfast was great, a Iittle busy but to be expected. Full of kids but you wouldn’t know, soundproof rooms, will stay again.

The two stars are for the two reception staff we dealt with who were helpful and friendly. But I do not recommend this hotel. We chose it purely due to proximity to family but won’t be staying there again. The following happened during our 4 night stay. One of the two lifts was broken with apparently no plans to fix it. We had to change rooms because the air conditioner was leaking water. The room smelt musty and at first we were offered towels to mop up the water. When we did move rooms we accidentally left a bottle of body wash in the shower and when we noticed later in the day it was gone when a staff member checked. The sofa bed for my son was uncomfortable and had metal poles sticking out. We were sitting in the reception area enjoying a drink when we could over hear a member of staff on the phone, apparently to head office, discussing sales targets and profit and loss reports in a very loud voice.

Great service and a beautiful view outside. Lovely breakfast and the shower gel was Dove brand which we liked. The family room was a big small because once the sofa bed was made we had no access to the window.

Hotel is expensive for what you are getting. Booked a room for two adults and one child. The room had an additional double bed put in it which meant there was no room to move about. Bathroom wasn’t the cleanest with hair in the corners. Breakfast was good. Stayed in another hotel the previous night which was £100 cheaper and provides better facilities very close to this one.

Extremely friendly staff at the recepción and food and beverages . I would like to mention ,a member staff (blond /bold in his late 30st) that after realised it was a body been taking from the water just opposite to our restaurant view as we were ha I g breakfast ,he extremely quick put the blind downs so we didn’t have to experience such sad news,specially with young kids. Please could you Thank him for a prompt reaction.

Accommodation was ok bèen in better holiday inn hotels. We booked family room which was 1 double bed and 1 sofa bed for 4 of us. Only 2 cups in room with 1 teaspoon. Toilet in room was difficult to flush. Cups at breakfast were stained and rim marked. Croissants run out by 8.30 not replaced cappuccino coffee turned out milk. 3 pillows on double beds no extra pillows. Staff were friendly and helpful windows from room on 3rd floor were stinking. Central hotel though

Everything was lovely apart from the spare bed which was very hard and springy - could do with a mattress topper on for comfort even for kids - otherwise everything was great - thanks

The hotel was clean The room for 2 adults and 2 children. The room was a bit tight. Staff was helpful and the breakfast was good. The hotel is close to shop and food venues. The only downfall was the car parking. Every time you leave the car park you have to pay £5.
