This is a beautiful hotel and we had a lovely time, however their approach to children is confusing. It says adults only but there were children in the restaurant and spa. When asked, they said that it was adults-only in terms of room occupancy. This is the place where children are least disruptive? It was a lovely stay but there were children in the spa, including in the jacuzzi, sauna and steam room so it was a bit confusing for what was billed as adults-only. I’d be happy if it was a family friendly venue, I would have loved to come back with my toddler but obviously can’t. I just felt like the way the stay was marketed and the reality were very confusing.

The rooms had been refurbished and were really nice. With coffee machine and kettle plus a choice of tea and coffee to use in your room for free. The service in the bar area was a little slow. But the sandwiches we ordered were very nice, but a bit pricey. We went down to the spa which was lovely but unfortunately there were some children running around the pool area throwing cups of ice cold water at each other. The parents thought this was acceptable behaviour so we ended up leaving before even using the pool. The buffet restaurant for dinner was poor. The food was awful and honestly you would be better off going out for dinner. The maids started slamming doors and banging trolleys around at 6.30am this went on all morning it was absolutely ridiculous. We ended up getting up extra early because we couldn’t sleep through the noise. Breakfast was adequate a choice of hot and cold food. Overall the rooms are nice and new, just a few things let this hotel down.

Lovely stay by the river . The highlight for us was hiring the boat and going up stream to old Windsor. The hotel has been bought by Warner - so already notice a change in cost- buffet for dinner now £35each. We walked into town alongside the river as an alternative. By next year this hotel will be adults only -so I recommend if you are a family get in quick -as a special spot in the river .

We booked this as it was a spa hotel, yet when i went to use facilities i was told it was fully booked. The receptionist at the pool entrance said 'it is full of children so won't be relaxing anyway'! I was not happy as (having got back to hotel from a 25k walk) i just wanted to relax by pool/in hot tub! The bar staff and breakfast staff were very friendly & attentive so just the spa element which let the Hotel down
