The Devon Hotel

Room was called executive family room. It was very small with no room around the beds. It was also very hot, not helped I'm sure by the size. There was air con to be fair. I wouldn't book again. Disappointed.

Great location with excellent staff at Reception. Our family put on a large function and all aspects of this were excellent. Thank you. So, I heartily recommend The Devon Hotel, except... ...we experienced a couple of wrinkles on the food and beverage side of things. The restaurant staff were great but two nights in a row we were unable to have most of the dessert options we wanted because the kitchen staff had gone home and the ovens were switched off and unusable (just after 9:30 on the Friday evening) or the next night when the kitchen staff had already put the chemicals in to clean the ovens (before 9:30). The coffee is terrible and to be avoided at all costs. Drink the much better instant coffee provided in your room for free. Now we know the pitfalls we will have a perfect stay when we return as we know what to avoid - unless management of course actually corrects these errors, which would be ideal. I have to say , though, with coffee that bad and what must be an obvious pattern in poor sales in aspects of restaurant service, I am not even sure there is anyone actually managing the F&B side of things.

Lovely Hotel staff go above and beyond so friendly . We were at the hotel to celebrate my daughters marriage with family great venue everything was perfect . Lovely clean room yummy breakfast plenty of choice . Great food for dinner especially their carvery would definitely recommend and stay again

Really lovely spacious bedroom, looked very clean upon arrival, however big cobwebs on ceiling which wasnt inviting. Bathroom too needed a good hoover and radiator needed a good dust as was thick with dust. Except for that this place was lovely and id stay again. Comfy beds, reasonably priced drinks and food. Just a tip When you checkout just check your bill, we had breakfast and the lady on reception tried charging us for 3 adult breakfasts as there were "3" in are one being a baby and them giving us a cot to use so should have really known a 5 month old wasnt going to eat breakfast!!!

We stay here quite frequently when visiting family in Devon. Always great service and comfy rooms and good food in Carriages.

The hotel was very comfortable and well located for visiting family who live close by. The staff were polite and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Will stay again.

Have stayed at the hotel several times to visit family and the room this time was amazing. Clean, spacious and warm! Staff were friendky as always
