We recently stayed for one night as a family with two young children and the hotel were very welcoming and accommodating, however I’d say most of the guests are adults on spa and golf weekends. They were really great at providing crayons and drawing at breakfast and one lady was very friendly to my two little ones. The swimming pool was shut during our stay which was a shame because I’d booked it his hotel especially as it had a pool and I wasn’t made aware until after I’d already booked with no cancellation option, but we still had a great stay anyway. Beds were comfortable and we loved the two double bed set up. Great location for exploring around the area too.

We were very impressed by Breadsall Priory. The staff were helpful and polite, the room was very nice and large enough to accommodate a family and we had good meals throughout our stay. It is clearly in a process of modernisation and was in much better condition than when we last came. A bit surprised to see the championship golf course still closed but we had a good time on the Moorland.

Excellent stay! Had a great welcome at reception and gift bags for kids which went down a treat! Positives: Comfortable beds, clean rooms, great pool, beautiful surroundings, friendly staff Improvements required: Not enough space at restaurant for evenings, had to order food in Breakfast - food was not being topped up on a regular basis and coffee isn’t great

Unfortunately there was a large party of very noisy & inconsiderate golfers resident, who completely spoilt what is normally a very pleasant place to stay. Noisy party in next door bedroom, very noisy in bar area and restaurant and they were completely oblivious to the fact that they were other guests in the hotel. Stood blocking stairs and corridors, while engaged in conversation. Hotel staff were excellent in trying to tame this rowdy rabble, who were NOT youngsters, but middle aged to elderly adults, who should have known better.

The only real disappointment was our dinner. The food was tasty but it wasn’t as described on the menu-my seasonal veg was two spring onions, my tarragon jus was gravy and our children’s fish bites were just cheap fish fingers!! We were 2.5hours for two courses….it was very slow. The hotel room was clean and the nature trail outside was lovely. The outside grounds were perfect for a stroll before dinner. All the staff were welcoming.

Beautiful grounds and ambience, large, well appointed room, unfortunately had view over car park rather than grounds. Clean and comfortable and serviced throughout stay. Swimming pool was nice though a lot of children early on Sunday morning and not very well sectioned off, ceiling above pool needed painting, very noticeable if like me you do backstroke!! - Breakfast was very good, a wide range of foods - reception staff could have been a bit more helpful with local knowledge such as bus information, stops, times - it might be helpful to have that to hand rather than say "I dont really use the buses so dont know! - but all in all a really enjoyable stay

Spent weekend with family at this hotel facilities were excellent in superb location with friendly helpful staff. Despite recent poor weather the interesting golf course was playable but would recommend a buggy Will visit again Peter (Fradley Lichfield)
