Doubletree by Hilton Hotel Coventry

We got upgraded to one of their newer rooms and it was lovely. The pool though was miniscule and the picture of it on the website was very flattering. Our weekend stay, the place was very busy with lots of children. Overall the room was very nice and the check-in and check-out was efficient. A bit surprised by the £6 parking charge.

We met up with family to exchange Christmas presents & catch up. The lounge was an excellent area for our 11 adults and 2 young children where we could enjoy our time without being disturbed. Staff were friendly & helpful and the hotel was clean and well-appointed. Our only problems were that our bed had one of those mattresses where the whole bed shakes if one person moves slightly, and the doors on neighbouring rooms seemed to be continually slamming at least until midnight. As a result, neither of us got much sleep.

Awful & expensive stay. Room was grubby , walls all marked, obviously room not cleaned very well or often. The top of the wardrobe was thick with dust. BTW I would not normally even look on top of the wardrobe but it was very short and below eye level. Just grubby and tired accommodation at 4* hotel prices. To make matters worse, we were woken up at 6 am by the kids running around upstairs in the staff accommodation. Left one of my ear pods behind me and called to arrange pick up. Said they would check and call me back. Never did just awful and avoid at all costs .

The spa facilities are dated and are mostly used for classes for local children, not exactly a relaxing spa environment

Travelling with a 20 month old baby is never easy. Throw in multiple allergies and it cam be a bit of a nightmare! However, this hotel was amazing! My little one loved the pool and then in the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast, his allergies were taken seriously and the staff put my mind at ease. The chef made my son a special batter for his dinner and then he got melon for dessert - which was what he requested. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It was reasonably priced, clean and the staff were amazing!

We found this hotel very nice, it is clean and well kept. we used it as a base to visit our family in coventry. The location is great, close to the M6. All of our family are on that side of the city. We will stay there again when we next visit.

We had booked a family suite through hotels.com We arrived and they told us it wasn’t available (gave an excuse about being overbooked, but I’ve worked in hotels to know they got a better rate paid and left us without the room we paid for) So they gave us 2 connecting rooms. The 3 stars is mainly for the fact we didn’t get the room we paid for. Other than that, rooms were nice and spacious although no fridge. (There is one in the suite) The air con was not that cold even though we had it on the lowest setting. The swimming pool was good as the kids enjoyed it. Breakfast was nice also. Overall was good, but if you haven’t got the room I booked, you had my number…. You should have called me.
