Great stay with the family. The kids loved the pool and had a room of their own room which really helped in the evening. We all had a really good sleep and breakfast was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel was perfectly located for our needs. The room decor was a little tired and the basin tap had seen better days, but overall the room was clean and bright and comfortable with not musty smells.

Really great location and excellent service. The lobby area looks great. The rooms are a bit dated, probably need a good dusting as I saw dust on the electrics next to bedside table. My 5 year old who is quite tall for her age struggled to reach over the sink to brush her teeth, so its just little things in regards to accesibility to be mindful of when travelling with a young family. Breakfast is great. Nice selection and options available on request too. Pool is nice, clean and warm. we could have spent hours more in the pool.

We stayed for two nights with our one year old son. The hotel is in a good location. We knew we had to pay for parking and would say the cost is excessive. The rooms are dated but clean and we had plenty of room. The AC was great. We ate in the hotel restaurant on both nights as we had put our son to bed. Although the food was nice the service was very poor. The restaurant was quiet on both nights yet we were ignored. Orders were taken slowly, plates not cleared away, drinks orders not taken. We waited a long time for wine to arrive once ordered. I am even more disappointed to say they add 10% service charge to all food and drink both in the restaurant and bar which I think is terrible. This should be optional and I cant understand why it is compulsory. We did challenge this but were told we had no option but to pay it. I cant believe 10% is added on top of everything. Pool is great particularly for young children. Breakfast was good and staff were much friendlier although plates were still not cleared.

Short break to Chester. Nice hotel in excellent location. Friendly helpful staff. Room was good although air con didn’t seem to work- had to open window. Bit disappointed with size of pool- only suitable for children really. Overall an enjoyable break to a lovely city.

Arrival was a little disappointing as check in was from 3 but our room was not reayd until 4. However, we got a couple of free drink vouchers and had a relaxing time in the spacious bar. We had dinner in the hotel bar, it was excellent - the childrens menu for £5.90 was really good, with nachos whilst waiting, good selection of mains and puddings. We also enjoyed our meals of burger and steak. Breakfast was also very good, with a great range to suit all. We chose the hotel as it had a pool and it did not disappoint, with a range of chidlrens toys which our 3 year old loved. The pool has a nice seperate chuldrens section which is nice and safe. There is also an adult pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna to enjoy. Location is great, 2 minutes walk into the center of Chester. Overall, a good stay.

Having booked this hotel as part of a 30th surprise mini break I felt very disappointed. We brought our little boy along and was so excited to take him swimming together for his very first time.. to find out that the pool was shut. I only found this out by asking where is it located and what are the opening times. To hear it’s closed sorry, but hopefully open tomorrow. The MAIN reason I booked this hotel, was purely for the pool! We checked again late afternoon on Friday, to see if it was open, to which it was but was told it was still cold ( too cold for our baby!) I feel like part of the price paid was to include this, yet we couldn’t use this facility!! Also, on booking, I gave the hotel details of our baby’s age (14 months)… and on arrival at our room, he had a sofa bed/chair to sleep on?? I am not sure why this was acceptable. We later managed to get a room change which we were thankful for, and offered a cot for him to sleep in. But I felt this should have been an option in the original room.
