We booked a last minute Saturday night away at the Royal Albion with our 2 year old son. On arrival the lady on the reception desk gave us an incredibly warm welcome. Our room (room 17 - family room) was perfect with plenty of space - a very comfortable double bed and bunk beds. We booked to have dinner in the hotel restaurant, where the food was delicious for both adults and children. A really lovely vibe in the restaurant too and the waiting staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel is literally a few steps from the beach and the restaurant has lovely beach and sea views. There is no parking on site, and nearby car parks are quite expensive (£15 per day!). We parked at the train station for less than £3.50 for two days. It's about 10 minutes' walk from the hotel. Our only complaint (and there's not much the hotel can do about this!) is that the family room is at the front of the hotel, on the first floor, overlooking the street. On a Saturday night it was very noisy. We were kept awake by people leaving bars and pubs from 10pm until around 3am, so we didn't sleep very well. As I said, not much the hotel can do to change this, but definitely worth bearing in mind if you are light sleepers! A room on the other side of the hotel would be much better, I'm sure!
