Movenpick Hotel Zuerich-Airport

Hotel was a decent all rounder. Shuttle bus was a fantastic service and helped us so much going back and forth to airport which has a mall and train station there. Requested a travel cot on the booking but had to ask again for one to be provided. Bathroom was grubby and aged lots of watermarks discolouration and limescale and bath not cleaned well. Rest of room immaculate beds cosy. Staff very helpful the free chocolate hour was cute especially if you have kids.

No AC working in such a hot summer. No fans provided. No one answers phone. Only one front desk person for the entire hotel. Old and worn out furniture. I hear guests complaining that front doors not closing. No maintenance available. I had to check in at midnight. And checked out immediately in the morning. Not a good hotel especially for family and will never prefer again.

Overall the room was clean and the service was great. However, the air conditioner did not work in one of our rooms. It caused a lot of discomfort for us and our baby.

❌DO NOT BOOK HERE!!! ❌ I repeat do not book from this hotel MOVENPICK HOTEL ZURICH .. Let me break it down for you. 1. We came here at the hotel MOVeNPICK Zurich like around 10:30 PM from our flight london-zurich, The check in line was long and there’s 3 people but only 1 receptionist helping at the front desk. 2. When we finally got the key card went to our room and the key card doesn’t work so we had to go back down stairs to let them know the key card would not work and had to wait for another 20mins bcoz there’s still a big line. (This was our first night here.) 3. So finally got inside our room, GUESS what!!! The A/C doesn’t work!!! Omg! For the first time in my life that booked or stayed in a hotel without an airconditioning. And we have a baby. So went down stairs again to complain about the a/c the guy at the front desk said that it’s a centralized a/c and they don’t have a control of the temperature. They didn’t apologized. Went back our room. This is on our first night. We slept with no blankets.

Travelled with family but it was the worst experience. The hotel rooms were filthy, beds/pillows were uncomfortable, A/C too noisy & whole night was boiling, the check in room keys have to be upgraded everyday & on complaining the reception girl just replied System not working. We were 4 members but towels provided in the bathroom were 2, room cleaning not provided unless asked for but no where mentioned that it has to be requested. Empty body soap dispenser. The lights were very dim. It’s 3/4 star property but no microwave in the room! Overall very poor & will never stay again. Amit & family

Expedia website said free shuttle. Not between noon and 4:00pm. Cost us $18. Would have been good to know. Isolated location so they price gouge you for food. 9 CHF for still water. Are you kidding me? Checking out early morning came upon a coffee station. After making a cup, was told it was 5CHF. Nothing at the station remotely suggested that. Thought that finally they were providing a normal guest service. AC did not cool adequately.

We were two families and were kept waiting for over an hour for check in and were told family rooms were un-available in spite of booking over a month ago. After a long wait we were eventually given two family rooms which were unbearably hot with limited light. The hotel has known of this issue for a long time but doesn't seem to care. This hotel is best avoided.

I rarely leave a review but I feel the need to warn those who are planning to stay in this hotel to think hard before booking. I can definitely say this is the worst hotel we have ever stayed in and does not deserve being a 4-star hotel! All the bad reviews about the room being hot are true! Yes, they will tell you “our rooms feature individually controlled air conditioning” BUT their a/c just felt like a fan blowing some air and wasn’t cool enough for the room. Their a/c control is outdated and we have adjusted the control several times to make sure but it did not make any difference. We told the hotel staff about it and they gave us a mini desk fan. It was too small for the room and did not make it any cooler. We opened our window, it did help a bit with room temperature BUT we couldn’t sleep because of the external noise (moving cars, wind etc). Our 3 nights in the hotel were miserable! Their pillows feel like they are non-existent because of how flat they are. We barely had any sleep because of our hotel situation. If only we could just sleep in the hotel lobby because it is way cooler there LOL. I will never go back to this hotel again and will definitely not recommend it to friends and family. All you will probably get from the hotel manager are “i apologize for any inconvenience” and some excuses. Only plus side in the hotel is their staff. But that’s about it. This hotel needs to be upgraded & repaired in order for their customers to have a peaceful & wonderful stay.

Great family hotel, and would recommend. But if you are British then you won’t like the breakfast as it won’t be to our British breakfast standard. they do have a variety of different items but they were ok. Not great but “it will do”. The location is good for travel as trams and trains are only a 5-10 minute walk. The trains and trams are superb, when compared to UK, it’s miles ahead!! So clean and super safe for families. Easy to navigate also with help of google maps. Overall it is a great hotel with everything you need for a short stay.

There were no batter bottles in the room, fridze nit working. When asked about water bottles they said they only give 1 per room and that to i have to come to reception to pick up and get it opened ( glass water bottles with lid need opener to pop the lid) because they said they will not send openers to room.we are family of 4 and when asked about hiw 1 water bottle is sufficient , the receptionist braged and finally said he will give 4 drinks but i have to vime to the reception. About the room - air conditioning not working properly, it takes hours to cool down tge room. Bathroom - no amenities except hand wash and body soap. The hair dryer was old snd dirty. The bath tub- when you take shower, the water get stuck and fills the tub. Its kind of annoying and dirty to be in the dirty showered water as the water will almost up to your knees. About the breakfast- pretty average taste wise. I will give 2.5 stars the breakfast. One coffee machine broke. Transportation from airport to hotel -they do not operate between 12 pm- 4:10 pm zurich time. My flight arrived 1:15 pm. I did not know about that time . I thought free transportation is available but the timings were nit advertised anywhere even in expedia. They tild me that i have to pay 15 swiss francs per person to get to the hotel. Overall i did nit like the stay . Very disappointed with this pick from expedia. This is not 4 star hotel.. should be 3 or below
