The Social Hub Madrid

This hotel has a great location. Very close to the metro, nice rooftop bar. Staff was excellent. Has the vibe of what I would describe as a youth hostel. Lots of young people (20-mid 30), but was still comfortable. Close to a lot of restaurants, and sites. Laundry was included at no charge, which was a plus. I was told that there are only king beds, while Expedia advertised doubles. I wanted 2 beds for the kids, but they got to share a king. Not the biggest deal. I'd stay there again.

We can smell the cigarette smoke inside our room especially on weekend when most people are out and drinking. We couldn't sleep at night. That's how bad the smell of cigarette smoke even when the windows were closed. This place is only for youngsters who like to party. My lungs were black by the end of our stay here.

The hotel and facilities are amazing. The receptionist was lovely to let us check in earlier than supposed to... Unfortunately the lift was broken during the most days we were there and they put me and a 9 years old child in a very far and high room... The hotel keepers only do your bed if you ask on the reception... The millennials who probably run the business should learn better how to accommodate older or middle age guests. The room is so modern that me with 39 years old have to guess how to turn on the lights etc... Bedroom is too dark. The location is brilliant but price is way too expensive for a non comfortable bed and they should have left a flat bed sheet on the side ... As they put a winter duvet when is 30 degrees outside... Also the air conditioning is the same as nothing because doesn't go below 20 degrees. If it wasn't for the location or swimming pool I would be staying somewhere else.
