Petit Palace Plaza del Carmen

This property is well located, generally (see below) well run, and I would stay here again. It is near numerous bus and metro stops and there is plenty to do and eat within easy walking distance. The front desk is very helpful. My family of four with a 16 and a 23 year old got family room which was good but small for four (at least by US standards). The beds and shower were good. One concern: On the second night the air conditioning unit for half the hotel failed (a big deal IMO). When I went down to the front desk at about 2am there was no one visible so I thought they didn't have 24 hour coverage (they do, clerk must have "stepped away"). When I complained at about 7:30am the clerk seemed genuinely surprised and said they would look into it. When I returned about 10am, he said I was correct and that lots of people complained. They fixed it that afternoon and after suggesting some adjustments were in order, they offered us free breakfast for the day which I thought was reasonable.
