Lovedddd the high ceilings but please be aware they have a lot of entertainment in the square at all hours. It may not be ideal for a family with small children. Ideal for walking to all the spots and amazing customer service.

In a very quaint part of town. The noise from the kids partying til 6:00 am ruined the experience

We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Do Placa Reial which I had chosen for our 10th wedding anniversary and a break without the children! The hotel was in a fabulous location and I requested one of the rooms overlooking the square with a balcony. The room was beautiful and the pillow menu was a first! Although people in the square seem to be eating, drinking and talking all night once we had shut the windows and closed the curtains you couldn't hear a thing. In fact we had 2 of the best night sleep we have had in years and nearly missed our booked visit to Sagrada Familia as we overslept! The hotel staff were so kind and helpful and even managed to find us a table at Montiel - one of the best restaurants in Barcelona at very short notice! We would love to return......

The hotel stay was fantastic. We stayed in a junior suite (room 11). It was spacious, very modern, and very comfortable. A lot of "extras" which are great -- unlimited free breakfast which can be enjoyed at the restaurant, upstairs by the pool, or in your room; small dessert treats brought in every evening; fresh fruit delivered every afternoon. The location was fantastic - right off la rambla, overlooking placa reial. The only negative with the location comes the noise -- people here never go to sleep! While most of the noise was muffled, someone not accustomed to "city living" might not like it.
