Hotel Silken Ramblas

Very good location, right on La Ramblas, this meant we were out late night and could have stops at the room multiple times. Breakfast was amazing, I loved fried eggs. Kids loved the pool on the roof and gym was nice too. Rooms were nice and clean. They had smart TV so we had good options to watch. We had king bed sofa bed for kids. King bed was very comfy and large, sofa bed was not too comfortable so kids in the last 2 days shifted to our beds with us. Location was perfect! Close to the square to catch bus and metro. Would stay here again

Really nice hotel! We stayed with our two kids and it was very spacious for the 4 of us. They stayed in a separate area of the room and everyone had space. Very clean and convenient room. Great staff and service! Highly recommend.

Firstly, I would like to congratulate the staff on an excellent customer service experience. We had some issues not related to the hotel and they were amazing. Everyone from the front desk reception and the nice people who helped with our bags. The reception was clean and the room was not too bad but the condition was not great for the price. The bathroom door was so warped that it did not close at all and the flusher on the toilet did not work well at all. The stench from the toilet was unbearable but I think this is common throughout Barcelona. The layout of our family room was actually good and without the bathroom door and unbearable stench the hotel would have scored higher. A big thank you to all the hotel staff once again.

Overall, I would say our experience at Silkens was just average. The hotel has a very good location. Although it has a modern interior, they did not keep up the rooms well. Water was dripping from the bathroom ceiling. Gouges were left unrepaired in the millwork. The entry door lock on our kids door was damaged and not repaired. The air conditioning also did not work well and with 90 plus heat, it was not as comfortable as it could have been. We could have just got some lousy rooms, but, I was expecting more. It does have a nice rooftop pool which we took advantage of and a nice spread of food in the morning. However, when most hotels include breakfast, the $22 per person charge was steep no matter if you just have a cafe or load up. We felt overcharged and went to a cafe down the block the rest of our stay. Overall, it was not a bad experience but, I rated it only at 3 due to the above.
