Hotel 1898

Loved everything about H1898. Food was fantastic, room was excellent, location perfect and the service was amazing. I just wanted to especially thank Danny the bartender, he went out of his way to make us feel welcome and like family, I will definitely be back as soon as possible

A beautiful, impeccable, full service hotel in a great location with lovely dining, spa, and many areas on the main level to lounge, socialize and gather whether for afternoon tea, mimosas (provided gratuitously) or drinks. My whole family loved this hotel which exceeded our expectations.

We came for week-long family holiday - two adults, two older teenagers, sharing two rooms. We loved the rooms - great beds, large bathrooms. Our room looked straight out onto La Rambla - very noisy late night if you kept your window open. We loved the roof terrace, and never had a problem finding space on the sunbeds. The bar staff on the terrace were all excellent - warm, welcoming and efficient. Drinks came served with free crunchy snacks - no good for the waistline! We were delighted to be invited to a free wine-tasting (hosted by Chuky) and a free cocktail-making class (hosted by Pablo) on two mid-week evenings. Great fun - and generous free drinks! Really great added value for our hotel. Breakfast was pretty good - a huge help-yourself-spread, with eggs cooked to order. We used the Spa (need to pre-book) and had some treatments - excellent, but expensive. The only thing that disappointed us was dinner on the Terrace one evening - the menu said that a list of allergens was available. My step-daughter has a peanut allergy, so we asked for the allergen list. The person serving us looked really embarrassed that there was no list available to offer us, but he went off and found out really quickly what we should know - great service. My partner ordered the rib - which appeared to have been microwaved/reheated, as the inside was only lukewarm. We flagged this with - what came back was the same item, just warmed a little more. We had expected a fresh portion

We rented 3 rooms for an extended family group -- with adult children etc--- for a week over New Year's. Could not have been nicer. The hotel was beautiful, super comfortable, with attentive staff, a fantastic location for exploring Barcelona and top notch amenities. Highly recommended.

This was our second time visiting Barcelona, and our second stay at this hotel. I wouldn’t even consider anywhere else. The hotel is loaded with charm and character, really comfortable, and the location is right in the heart of the city. I can’t say enough just how much my whole family loves hotel 1898!

This was a fantastic hotel. When we arrived we were immediately upgraded to a better room. It was a little noisy as it faced onto La Ramblas but was large and had a super king size bed. The staff did say it could be a weee bit noisy so no issues. Housekeeping were excellent. Bedding changed every day and fresh towels always there when we got in. The morning breakfast is nothing short of excellent. A full range of foodstuffs to suit all palates and a glass of cava with breakfast should you choose. Great gym facilities and a wonderful spa pool and saunas. The roof top bar has 360 degree panorama views. Could not fault this hotel and would definitely recommend to family and will stay here again. An absolute gem of a hotel.
