Nice hotel with friendly staff and good sized rooms. The area is mostly the resort with very little around (a few shops, a couple of pubs - the hotel beach bar is great with lovely staff!) so would recommend getting a food plan with your stay above breakfast as the kitchens in the rooms have very few utensils so you’d find it tricky to cook. The food at the buffet is ok but there isn’t much variety from one night to the next. It also doesn’t open until 6.30pm (7 in the summer) which isn’t ideal for young children. There are also a couple of discrepancies between the Expedia listing and the reality of the hotel. These aren’t necessarily problems but worth being aware of. Check in isn’t actually until 3 so our room wasn’t ready when we arrived. Also, the superior bungalows are actually apartments so there’s a good chance you’ll get one which is upstairs and have to carry your luggage/prams up the steps. The listings also state they have showers or baths but we were informed that they only actually have showers which was an issue as we were travelling with a toddler. The staff were able to find us a baby bath but with our child being almost two this was a bit cosy! The children’s pool and main play areas are sadly only for those aged 4 and the children’s disco doesn’t start until 8.30 which is a real shame

If you want to relax, Barcelo' resort is the right place to do so. it's quiet, chilled, mainly for couples and families. The facilities are good and the room is very big and comfortable. However, if you want to discover Fuerteventura, Caleta de Fuste is not the most authentic place.

Definitely not a 4 star experience, terrible cost-to-value Check-in terrible: unfriendly, not accommodating at all, refused to give out rooms way past the check-in time (although half the facility was empty), we needed to fill in all forms by ourselves, long waiting times The service is rather youth-hostel level (deposit fees for towels; reception can't be called; housekeeping came 6 hours after we requested) and so is the enitre feel of the resort. The whole facility seems very chavy and cheap. Tiny pool area + the beach is actually public (with overpriced pruvate equipment use). Chilling at the pool is rather unsatisfactory (loud, overcrowded). Rooms were ok though a bit outdated. Resort targeted at families and elders

We stayed here for the last three nights of our holiday . We booked it last minute after our other accomodation was unfit. The staff here were great - all of them. You can get involved with the activities or just sit and watch . Pools were great and there were life guards on the ball for when your toddler wandered off! We stayed half board and the food was also really good for what is mass production. Plenty to choose from and had everything to please babies to grown ups . The meat and fish was cooked in front of you so there was nothing hanging around. You really couldnt fault this place. We had a maid in everyday who made the beds and swept up and you only had to ask for spare sheets or towels and they were there . its a big place but it's well run from what we saw . The beach isn't the best beach of the island but it had water sports and kids activities so again ticked many boxes . Woukd definitely stay with them again .

We stayed 3 weeks in a small house. It was clean, but sometimes we saw very big cockroaches walking in our room (15 cm). Every day the room was cleaned, but never cleaned with water. Every day the towels were changed and that was very nice. The bed in the master-bedroom is very good. The bed in the living-room is terrible. An adult will have a lot of back problems after his holidays. Several times we went to the big pool. The entertainment was very nice at the pool. Not to loud and not to long. The personal at the poolbar were always in a bad mood. The drinks are very expensive when you don't have an all-inclusive arrangement. There are signs at the pool that it is not allowed to put the towels on the sunbeds to make a reservation, but at 9:00 all the beds with the parasols are reserved with towels. Very annoying!! The beach is not as good as it looks. You have to pay for the sunbeds and it is not soft sand. There are lying lots of sharp rocks. You can better rent a car and visit the beaches at Corralejo. There are natural dunes and you can rent cheaper the sunbeds and parasols. The entertainment in the evening is very nice for the kids. It is the same team as in the pool. They are very enthusiastic and communicate a lot with the kids. We had only included our breakfast and this was perfect. It's busy in the morning, but there is enough choice. You have a lot of nice restaurants for a nice diner at the harbour and in the city of Caleta de Fuste.

Initially I was worried that we would have to queue up for meals and drinks etc as it is a large hotel, but this was not the case as the hotel offers many different board rates so many people self-cater, others half-board and all-inc. All inclusive was great - you could just get your own drinks and snacks etc and the choice and standard of food and drink was great. The saltwater swimming pools were lovely... there is a slight lack of sunbeds so maybe a few more would be helpful as you still get people getting up early and putting their towels out on them! One family had the best sunbeds secured for the whole day and didn't even use them until 5pm as they'd been out all day!! I'd definitely recommend the hotel to people - the location, staff, services and food/drink is fab.

A great hotel, nothing was too much for any of the staff. Great position for beach and pool. Rooms where more than adequate and always very clean. The air conditioning was tip top. Food was amazing with more choice than you can imagine. Animation team was exceptional. Shows in the evening where of a high standard. What a great setting. The town was very close. Our family of 4 had an absolutely wonderful time and experience.

Pretty hotel with decent rooms/amenities but more 3 star than 4 This is a great place for families but not so great for a group of friends looking for a relaxing week away as we were! The various pools are lovely but full of kids as is the slightly chaotic buffet dining room (we went all inc) the entertaient is also pretty dire so I'd recommend going self catering as the hotel is right on top of a supermarket and lots of restaurants/bars
