Alwadi Hotel Doha - MGallery

2 night stay with 3 young kids. Good room size (we had the executive family room). The property was generally immaculate. Convenient for the Souk Waqif and walkable to the Corniche (in the evening). Staff were attentive and responsive; reception and concierge. Breakfast was excellent as you would expect at this level, buffet and semi a la carte. There is a but - the default half board option was disappointing but in our case, after the first night, the hotel remedied the issue very quickly (within 20 min of raising the issue) by allowing us to use a different restaurant on the 2nd night (O'Glacee restaurant) - the default option (CILA restaurant) was a limited a la carte menu, no children friendly options, and the food itself was not great (although Shish taouk (main) and the Creme Brulee (dessert) were good) - together with our wider group we tried almost everything possible. Portion sizes were bigger than expected and that appeared to be the case in Doha more widely - coming from the UK. Late checkout was allowed without any fuss. I would return.

We bookes half board for the whole stay. But for three evenings we faced problems using it. At first we were rejected in the said restaurant, because our rate does not include half board (although: at the check-in we were expressly said to go to this restaurant). By chance we met a manager of the service section, he clearified, he apologized and for the next days we had our table in the buffet restaurant and it was fine for us. Another day we were told: restaurant is fully booked, we have to use the outside-restaurant on the third floor; but as it was very windy, nothing was prepared there, they didn’t expect anybody due to the wind. By chance we met another service manager, who took care for us and arranged within 10 minutes a table for us; and we looked around: the restaurant was not fully booked-several table were not used. Finally: we were a family of six persons with 2 little kids among us!! This was a bigger issue in communication inside the hotel, which was disappointing for us
