Crowne Plaza Vilamoura - Algarve, an IHG Hotel

Had a wonderful stay with family.Exellent facilities for all.Lounge open till 11 with exellent food.Beach access with kiddy pools.Will definitely stay again!!

Our experience at the Crowne Plaza, Vilamoura, was generally positive. The staff demonstrated friendliness and helpfulness, and the hotel offers comprehensive facilities. However, there are notable areas for improvement: Despite its 5-star rating, the hotel’s cleanliness fell short of expectations. Notably, the outdoor pool requires attention (there was even a deceased fish at the bottom). Frequent calls to reception were necessary due to housekeeping oversights. Insufficient towels, face towels, and water bottles were recurring issues, although room cleaning remained satisfactory. The restaurant’s dinner service left room for improvement. Fortunately, the abundance of dining options in the area mitigated this concern. The kids’ pool was uncomfortably cold during cooler days, prompting us to use the larger pool instead. On a positive note, the hotel’s location is exceptional, mere steps from the beach and a convenient 15-minute walk to the Marina. The breakfast selection is commendable, and the Spa, while pleasant, could benefit from additional attention, similar to the outdoor pool.

3 generation family holiday for second year running.

Excellent location - 2 mins to beach, great with young children. Outdoor pool not heated and Brits/Irish seem to bag the seats around the pool very early I.e. overnight! Indoor pool available at 10 EUR a day. Staff excellent - we upgraded to junior suite as we wanted direct sea view and we did then have to move from 2nd to 10th floor to avoid footsteps above us (lots of children which is great for your children's company but lots of small noisy ones). We did hear the next door children after moving rooms so became philosophical about the whole issue. Would irritate non-parents!! Only downside is sound-proofing, rest fantastic....

We had a fantastic week away - the location was perfect, the weather, although windy was great, we were half board and ate far too much lovely food! I only have one critisism - the pools were absolutely freezing, far too cold to use. My 4 year old was desperatee to play in the kids pool but she, and other children I watched gave up due to the temperature. I think a 5 star hotel nowadays should invest in heated pools to at least enable people to swim/play. The same applied to the adults pool, everyone was sunbathing but only the odd person swam. I didn't go in once during our whole week which was disappointing. Coffee for the nespresso facilities in the room and a mini bar would have been nice.

This hotel is beautiful and kept to the highest standards. We had only 2 minor complaints: The first was that, in spite of the air conditioning the room never felt cool and was stuffy. The Fan helped a little but never fully compensated. The second would be the lack of tea/coffee facilities in the room. We traveled with a 7 month old child for the first time and the hotel staff ensured that we had all of the facilities that we needed for the child. Everything worked out great. The hotel was top class, we would stay there again and would also recommend it to friends.
