The property was good. Would be great for families having the kitchen facility. It was quiet not much happening. Would have been great if the beach was open and water equipment. Not sure there wasnt due to beach closures.

Where to start - after checking in we were told that we will be charged extra for our children despite booking a one bedroom room with a sofa bed. We were then welcomed by ants in our room, leaking dishwasher and fridge, view of carpark (despite every room supposedly having beach views), freezing pool water & construction noise all throughout the day making it unbearable to sit by the pool side. At night, we were put to sleep by the whirling wind noise given poor window insulation. Upon checkout, we were surprised by additional restaurants charges that others must have put towards our room. Daily cleaning was completed by sunset if lucky. Management were trained well to act like they care but when issues were flagged no action was taken - including the mysterious manager at the back of reception who never came out to speak to customers. At best, this is a 2 star hotel and we really struggled to understand the value proposition - save your money by avoiding this place. Either stay at a cheaper hotel and spend time doing day trips off the mainland or stay another hotel. We spent the other half of our holiday at the Hilton îlot Maître and had a relaxing holiday with friendly staff, fantastic customer service and amazing surrounds.

If you are not French speaking the staff are extremely rude and do not want to serve you. We had several instances of extremely rude staff, we had burgers at lunch one day and although the Pattie’s were large they were extremely dry and overcooked they were also out of salads the same day restricting the menu even more. The charcuterie platter was nice. Do not order cocktails from the restaurant downstairs, my cosmopolitan came out completely clear and tasted like water and lime juice but staff gave attitude when we gave feedback when you’re paying over $25NZD a cocktail you want it to be good!. The lounge bar upstairs knew how to make cocktails so don’t waste your time going downstairs. The pool bar wasn’t open our whole stay due to “weather” despite it just being a little cloudy. The pool opens at 830am which is quite late if you have kids, construction started earlier than this so can’t be a sound thing and you cannot get towels until 9am which doesn’t align with pool opening time. The facilities are nice and we had a nice massage but the staff and restaurants tainted our experience.

A great location right on the beach. Very family friend with lots of space in the 1 bedroom room with sofa bed. Great balcony to sit on and look at the view

Perfect beach front location, where you can enjoy the sunset at the bar, safe beach for young kids, and you may see turtles 100m from shoreline

Disappointing, right from the start. We stayed for 10 nights but wanted to leave after 5, but were unable to change our flight or find another room with a cot at short notice. We arrived at 2pm and were told to come back at 3 to check in. At 3pm the room still wasn't ready and we were left in the foyer with our 8 month old baby until 3.45. The suite was very nice, and well equipped. The microwave didn't work, but they replaced it eventually. The dishwasher leaked, leaving us with a wet floor for the duration of our stay, though housekeeping graciously came up and dropped a bath towel on it as some meagre attempt to address it. Likewise, the dryer in the laundry didn't work. When I reported it to reception I was told to use one of the 2 others on Level 5 or 7. Obviously, 2 dryers servicing the whole facility meant there was always a queue, and as a result we had wet clothes for 3 days, some of which are damaged as a result. The dryer remained broken for the duration of our stay. Housekeeping staff were very friendly, but the service consisted of making the bed and rearranging your personal items. Overall, all staff were friendly, but entirely unhelpful. A luggage trolley was left in our hallway when we arrived, and remained there for 4 days while staff walked around it. It reappeared a few days later, and stood outside the lift for another 3 days. Yes, all first world problems, but at a first world price, and exactly what we paid to avoid. Overall, very disappointing.
