The place was great overall. Wonderful pools except the hot tubs were cold. Great place for kids. The beach was nice. The rooms were nice but the beds are as hard as rocks. Nice location. You can walk anywhere.

Men are not allowed to wear tank tops in the beachside buffet restaurant when women can wear bikinis, strapless dresses, and barely any clothes. There were more (very loud) children than adults. Finally, the food was not good. The quality relative to the price was not worth it. The hotel is outdated and the management staff is the most unaccommodating of any hotel anywhere. A Holiday Inn has better service. I highly recommend The Palms Resort as an alternative. Don’t waste your money on the All-Inclusive (unless you’re an alcoholic) package as it is not worth half the price. The bar staff was wonderful. The location is great. The food at Casa Roberto was acceptable. I will never stay here again and recommend that you do not either!

A good place to take children but it is not quiet. A good place for large parties and partying in general. Restaurants were excellent

Wonderful old school hotel; excellent food at affordable prices. Everyone is always having a great time there, with several beautiful pools, children’s activities and superb attentive service.

We have stay here before and we had nothing but good times but this time it was crowded and the service was low quality some of the stuff were rud and like they did not want to be there.also we try to request a late check out since our flight was later in the afternoon and of course they had the room already book ., the times before wasn’t a problem , very disappointed on this hotel., time to look for new place to spend our family vacation

We stayed here for a week and opted-out of the all-inclusive because we wanted to explore the city. Traveled with 3 children under 5yo. With that in mind I'd like to share our experience Pros: family friendly hotel, there are a few pool options for children. There are palapas right on the beach, with local vendors who come up to sell different things. Breakfast buffet provides an array of food options, they seem to change the menu every other day but overall it was good & the views to the open seating are stunning! Rooms are comfortable and spacious. There's an Oxxo within walking distance. Cons: some pool amenities weren't working in the children's pools. The water over at the boat pool was ice cold the week we were there (February) & was always empty because of that reason. Some areas to the hotel need some work. Id rate their customer service a 2/10, we had an issue where they charged us an extra week & weren't able to get a full refund despite me speaking to a manager onsite! They're super stingy with the pool towels so don't loose them or that'll be an additional charged at checkout! From what we saw & prior all inclusive hotel experience, this resort isn't worth the money for allinclusive, their restaurant options are very limited including the bars, so save yourself a couple hundred dollars & opt-out. I'm glad we did! We enjoyed their breakfast buffet & ventured out throughout our stay. Lots of local restaurants in the malecón & nearby area.

I was a little anxious travelling while being 4 months pregnant (we were doing a baby moon/honeymoon), but as soon as we arrived to the playa, all of those worries melted away. The staff are very friendly, the rooms were clean and excellent, and the beaches are taken care of and beautiful. Throughout the day, there is a lot of loud music on the beach, but my husband and I actually really enjoyed this! Lots of reviews on here say they’re annoying, but the music is beautiful and authentic and lots of locals dancing. It was a good energy. The bands wrap it up around dinner time so it doesn’t go ALL day. The vendors are as they would be in any other place in Mexico. Most of them were lovely and we would chat with them. Sometimes the staff would ask why I wasn’t drinking alcohol, and when I told them I was pregnant, they responded in such a loving way and would talk about their own children. It made me feel so comfortable to see some other pregnant women at the resort too. I didn’t really like the food all that much at the Buffett as I found it to be very bland, but being pregnant I may have had food aversions to it. I loved the fresh fruit and yogurt. The other restaurants in the resort are good, but we ended up eating off resort a lot just for more options. I would stay here again!

My daughter and i just stayed our 10 vacation days at Hotel Playa. We had stayed there in previous years, when our family was more complete and she and I decided to return to revive memories. The entire staff, as in prior years was very attentive and friendly. The young lady, Teresa, assigned to clean our room, was excellent and adjusted her cleaning schedule to our varying room exit times. The food and beverage service both in the restaurant and at the beach palapa was very very good. We love the architecture of Hotel Playa, and recommend it highly, for families..
