Shangri-La Rasa Sayang, Penang

We were past guests of the hotel. We returned for a family holiday. Always enjoyed the morning buffets, staff is friendly, great service. Our stay was very comfortable. Thank you to the staff at Shangri-La Rasa Sayang!

Excellent food and facilities. We stayed at Rasa Wing Junior Suites which includes a massive bathtub in the balcony. The pools and gardens are great for the family to enjoy. The staff are very friendly and the food quality is great too. I would highly recommend this resort if you want to get a getaway for your family (with little ones).

Beautiful resort! We loved our holiday here and felt it was definitely a worthwhile trip. Staff were delightful and the buffet breakfast was really good. The deluxe garden view room we had was lovely and the grounds of the resort are such a nice place to sit and relax although I would recommend forking out extra for the rasa wing suite if your not a 'kid' person ...as you'll get access to the child-free pool... good if you can afford it, as the main pool area tends to get pretty loud with children (yuck). My only other mild critique would be that the pool bar has no idea how to make cocktails.. they were very average and for a whopping $15AUD equivalent - a price you'd expect at any hotel bar but minus the quality.

Been a repeat stayer at this hotel for many years. It has aged well considering the last renovation. Rasa wing high tea/canapé are always a charm. Monitor lizards swimming freely in the garden wing pool (that is the only pool permitted for kids) need to be urgently removed.

The hotel is a great place for R&R. It is suitable for all groups, families, couples, single travellers.

I had a really pleasant stay with my family even though it was just for one night! The overall environment and rooms are very well maintained and clean. The hotel is very thoughtful and attentive to all the guests' needs. They even prepared beach slippers for guests who may not have brought theirs. They are situated in a forest area so there is a rich biodiversity which my family enjoyed exploring the place! What surprised me is the good variety and quality of food for the breakfast buffet and the cake specially prepared for one of the rooms I booked. Really thank you for the great hospitality from all the staff members. Will definitely patronize again when I'm back in Penang!

We LOVE this place! Stayed in the Rasa Wing (recommend) and we can't find anything bad to say - the staff were fantastic, we had everything we needed and more, it was easy to grab a Grab to get into Georgetown, there was plenty to look at down the road - food, shopping, massage, pharmacy etc etc. The property is older - established gardens, understated, classy and 'old school'. If you want something with bling - go down the road. If you want a relaxed and low key holiday - come here. If you don't have kids - stay in the Rasa Wing for a bit more VIP treatment - the nightly happy hour (90 minutes) is a definite bonus that we loved.

Great exclusive resort within the Shangri-La family brand. They recommended that i join theur loyalty scheme and were very generous in giving us a great discount to upgrade our room 2 levels. The upgrade was a great option but room floor and balcony was not cleaned during our 3 night stay, as the hairs that were evident on the toilet floor and balcony chairs when we arrived were still there 4 days later. Service was excellent with Abdul in the Restaurant; Muru at the Rasa Wing pool and Lia at the Rasa Lounge only increasing the impression of a beautiful location and well worth the investment. We transferred to Shangri-La Golden Sands on departure and there is no comparison. To the point, we sneaked back for a cheeky visit as we missed the serenity, relaxing atmosphere and to fulfil my indulgence of swimming multiple lengths in privacy and without interruption. We shared the pool area and pool with the subtly quiet but harmless lizards, and we were reminded that we are their guests as this is their natural habitat.
