APA Hotel Ueno Ekimae

Pressure cooker exploded at restaurant where my sister was sitting at bar seat, facing the cooking area. The hot bone soup exploded to everywhere. My sister's body, clothes, and cell phone which placed on the table were with messy of bone soup. She needed to return back to hotel room for cleaning and changing clothes. The family day trip was postponed as a result for hours. This horrible incident happened at the buffet breakfast at the hotel on Feb 3 2024. Difficult communication. Hotel staff don't understand English.

Staying in Apa Hotel Ueno Ekimae added a great experience in our first trip to Japan. I will recommend this place as me and my 2 children ages 17 and 8 had a great experience. 👍 👌 even the breakfast included in our stay was really great. We will be back 👍

Hotel was very good. Very clean and staff are great. Location is nothing spectacular but you’ll find a lot of restaurants across the street. Quiet area, close to a 7-11 and family mart convenience store. Relatively close to many exits in Ueno station.

i love Ueno because convenient traffic and restaurants around. definitely a good choice for family trip.

It is close to the train station. The family mart was just across the street. Many residents close by.

my room had a window facing another window five feet away and got zero light. the bathroom had not been properly cleaned before my stay and the walls were coated with other people’s hair and there was orange gunk around the tub. the double room was very cramped and i do not think it would comfortably house two people unless one was a young child or the both of you like to cuddle. the breakfast was a decent open buffet. the onsen was very nice though and the staff were all very polite and helpful.
