Mitsui Garden Hotel Shiodome Italia-gai

This is a nice hotel with two super single beds and a comfortable sofa bed for our teen boy. Space is tight like typical Japanese hotel. We like that the hotel is nestled in a quiet estate. Pronto for breakfast, family mart if you need any snacks. Shimbashi for good food options just 10 mins away. Entrance to train station is a nice easy walk.

This hotel was very clean and our room for 3 (we are a family of 3 & our daughter who is 14 counted as an “adult”) was spacious. The public bath is simple with almost no amenities (not even free water) but well-kept. Check-in and check-out procedures were smooth. It’s a quick walk to Shiodome train station and a bit further (5-7 mins) is the bigger Shimbashi station. The area had lots of good dining options and konbini. Would definitely stay here again.

This hotel was always a dependably comfortable stay prior to the pandemic, but I'm sad to say I won't be visiting it again. At check-in, we were told that the climate system was set for heating, and couldn't cool our room -- it wouldn't have been a problem if we could get fresh air into our room, but upon opening our window, we discovered there was no breeze and very loud trains. We were given one small, flat pillow each, and when we requested one extra, we were told that they were out of pillows. Out of pillows? Are you kidding me? I didn't expect luxury, but this was a failure to provide even the most basic comfort.
