RIHGA Royal Hotel Kyoto

My family had a great stay at the RIHGA Royal Hotel. The hotel was in walking distance of Kyoto Station, which allowed us access to all parts of the city. They offer a shuttle service to the station as well. The rooms were clean and modern. It still had the Japanese aesthetics though in the design. The amenities at the hotel were great but I would say their staff was what I will remember the most. They were very accommodating and helpful. Would stay here again if I have the opportunity!

Minutes away from Kyoto station, this hotel is a must for families visiting Kyoto. Top of Kyoto restaurant offers a great view of the city while enjoying a delicious meal.

The hotel was amazing, spacious, very comfortable beds and has a pool ($11 entry pp) which the kids loved after lots of sight seeing and so much walking. I would definitely recommend RIHG, it was close to Kyoto train station and they run a shuttle bus every 20 minutes.

Great location. Easy for family travels.

We are a family of five adults and stayed at the RIGHA Royal Hotel for three nights in mid-June 2024. We were immediately greeted by the staff, and directed us to rest until we were allowed to check in. Our rooms were very spacious. We had a family suite with an entrance to slip off shoes with complimentary slippers, large closet space with robes. Our great room had five twin beds, a living area with small sectional sofa with small mini fridge bar with electric hot water kettle, complimentary instant tea/coffee, and ice bucket plus empty bottle to fill with complimentary ice and water (down the wall at our floor). There was a separate toilet room with sink. Another spacious bathroom with double sinks, a shower stall, and a separate tub and wet room. The beds were firm and the bedding ok. The bed and linens were not the most comfortable for our stay. However, the hotel location excellent - 5 minute walk to Kyoto station or there is a free shuttle, less than 5 minutes walk to the Aeon Mall (shopping and restaurants), convenience stores, and coin operated laundry services (the hotel doesn’t have self-serve laundry). Staff is super friendly. Many dining opportunities in the hotel. The buffet breakfast and dinner are excellent. The Kyoto revolving restaurant is a must to dine. It is a beautiful 360 degrees views of Kyoto. We recommend RIGHA Royal Hotel. Because the beds and bedding were not comfortable, we give this hotel 4 stars.

Perfect hotel for a family with children. Great restaurants, a pool/hot tub, and free transfer to the Kyoto train station.

It was family orientated place and it was easy access to the train station and other amenities like the shops the convient stores and the laundry mat

The room was spacious for our family of 4. - 2 beds and 2 futons - walk-in closet - large bathroom - separate toilet room - large entrance with a long bench

My wife said the room smelled when we first came in. She opened the window for a while until the smell was gone. We had a second room for our kids and my daughter said the seat was dirty and she wiped it with a Clorox wipe. The water in the shower every so often will become cold for a second or 2.
