Daiwa Roynet Hotel Kyoto Ekimae

Right beside the Kyoto station, it was a convenient stay for my family as we explored Kyoto. One can walk around for dining, groceries etc. The location was key for us and did not disappoint. We traveled by buses and later by shinkasen. The courier service from the hotel was seamless (highly recommended to ship suitcases between cities)

This hotel was almost perfect for family travel except one thing - there was only 3 coin-operated laundry machines in the hotel. I had hard time waiting for laundry machine. Otherwise, this hotel should deserve a five-star rating.

Great location within walking distance of the train station. I also loved that it was so close to the Kyoto tower food area underground which was fully of great food options. Criticisms- you shouldn’t be recommending a twin room for 4 people when the beds are singles it just doesn’t work. We are skinny and still had to push the beds together to fit us all in (2 small children) it just makes for an uncomfortable night sleep. I would also expect cleaners to not simply leave hundreds of towels on your door handle each day and to not clean cups that have been used when they do clean the room. I also think the breakfast is over priced for what it is as it was very disappointing with very limited options

This hotel was ideally located for us. Short walk from train station, readily available taxis, shopping, food, some attractions. We had a room with 4 twin beds so there was not a lot of room for our luggage. The air conditioning was great (stayed in late June). The amenities were top notch even with a kit for the little ones. The front staff was very friendly and helpful. Even helped us with takubin (luggage forwarding).

Great location. Room is a bit tight for a family of five though. But overall, great hotel to stay in Kyoto.
