NH Venezia Rio Novo

Only when checking-out, we were told that our 8 and 12 year old children had free breakfast during our stay. It was not mentioned to us at check-in or during our stay. The staff (mostly at reception) did the minimal to help us with transport from hotel to the train station. With a train strike on our check-out day, our earlier written request to change the check-out day was ignored. However, on multiple occasions, I discussed the train strike and our planned train time (boarding train at 8 am). Only on the night before did the manager said that I should have pre-booked the porter. He pretty much said that only option was to pay 70 euros to water taxi for a 2 min. ride. In the morning, when I again requested to help with porter, the receptionist said "porters are sleeping.. everyone starts work at 9 am or later" and that I should book a water taxi. I decided to walk to the train station myself (6 min. walk) and found a porter who came with to take our luggage. The receptionist then said something like " oh.. I just want you to understand that we all work together here.. this porter is part of our big group etc. etc."

My family of four had a great stay here. It’s right on a canal so we were able to take a Water Taxi from Marco Polo to the door of the hotel. The room was clean and rather large especially for Venice. The staff was polite and helpful and it was a short walk to Campo San Margherita where there’s lots of restaurants and shops for a nearby dinner or lunch. We highly recommend.

I can’t say enough about this hotel. Fully renovated and everything is to the detail. From the welcome service to the cleanliness. Very nice smell, nice bathroom and ample room. We stayed in the junior suite. Hope you have a great time as we did.

Great connecting family rooms, great location & brilliant atmosphere

This hotel isn’t family friendly specially for someone like us who has a push chair!! Entrance has quiet few steps, there’s a lift which never worked!! Breakfast charges are a bit on the high side considering choice isn’t great. We are on train trip to Italy for 5 major cities so I’m sharing my experience from other hotel’s & services they have offered. We paid a lot of money but this hotel isn’t value for money.

My family had a great stay at this hotel. Very comfortable and clean. Close enough to walk everything in Venice but yet felt a little away from the busy streets with restaurants and shops. Would stay here again for sure!

The hotel is very nice and is worth the price. However upon checking into our room, the air conditioning unit did not work. We requested another room as they were unable to fix the air conditioning unit. However they said they were fully booked and didn’t have any other rooms to offer us. After several calls and two trips to the reception (3 hours of complaining) they moved us to a junior suite room. The room was very nice and we enjoyed the rest of our stay. I would give this hotel a 5 star rating if they would have addressed our concerns sooner. Being in retail management myself, I do not feel they handled the situation correctly to start. If I did not pursue our concerns, nothing would have been done.

I recommend this hotel especially for , families, good location, very clean, good services, good breakfast, I will come back to the same hotel sometimes.
