Hotel Olimpia Venice, BW Signature Collection

The family room we had was exceptional. It was spacious with balcony overlooking canal.

I booked Hotel Olympia based on a Venice travel review written by a family a while ago. Amazing reviews and great pictures also drawn me to this hotel. It didn’t disappoint. All staff was extremely friendly, kind, helpful and knowledgeable. Their European buffet style breakfast was amazing; it is a must because of how great it is and convenient. Our room overlooked at the canal. How great it is to wake up to see gondolas! Many great restaurants conveniently located by the hotel, and you can always find a table by the canal.

Close to train/bus/taxi stations so didn’t have to carry luggage very far. We had a superior canal view room but were disappointed as it literally looked over the canal at the bus station. Very busy area due to proximity to transport hubs. We changed rooms to junior suite with no view but lovely quiet spacious room! You will have lots of opportunity for canal views as you meander the Venice streets.

More luxurious than expected, even for our "junior suite" one floor up. Great pastries and abundant good coffee in the included generous breakfast buffet. Urbane, patient, good-humored, and helpful staff at front desk, lobby, and breakfast service. Elevator will hold only about one person and two suitcases. Magnetic room key fob is also electric lights switch master key. Within a block's walk of transportation to/from the Piazzale Roma: the people-mover from the cruise ship terminal, the airport bus (and other buses') starting point(s); also, beyond the freestanding "tickets R us" building (down half a flight of stairs and then left) is a major Grand Canal vaporetto stop not on most maps of Venice. (Do buy the 3E map when you get vaporetto tickets at the canal.) Add the distance of one big staircase bridge over the Grand Canal to get to/from the railway station. From the Piazzale Roma, roll your suitcase along the green souvenir kiosks' sidewalk to the sidewalk that goes away from the buses and toward the small canal, then take the staircase bridge that's closest to the small canal.
