Hotel Nuova Italia

Room was great. Spacious and clean. The staff were very accommodating, helpful and kind. Breakfast, especially the cappuccino was delicious. Walkable to everywhere. We really enjoyed our stay here as a family.

it was okay, very basic. the walls are really thin so you can hear families next door and our room was right above the bar next door - i had asked to move to a quieter one but they couldn’t move us because we only had a basic room booked. i brought ear plugs so it was fine. breakfast was continental, very good selection. the location is amazing for exploring florence - very central and only 10 mins walk to everything.

When we entered the hotel it look nice from outside and close to train station but we came to know there was no lift which was fine. We carried our luggage to the first floor. We entered the room it was small which also was fine since we were out most of the time and would only go to sleep at night . We stayed there for 3 nights. We are travelling with small kids. The most disgusting part was there was there was no hot water kettle and they expected us to fill water from the washroom. I advise since I have young kids we need to boil water and then give them however we had no choice but to give tap water. They also wanted to keep our locker keys together with the hotel keys when we go out for cleaning. I was uncomfortable and kept the safe keys. The air conditioner was controlled by staff at 24 which I told them it was too hot the first night and to provide fans to which he advised that they control it by room wise. I requested them to keep at 21 Celsius to which the next two nights were good to sleep. On final day of the checkout was the most terrible experience we asked for a late check out the previous night to which the night staff Noel said he would make it 11am instead of 10am, and then we can keep the luggage down till we leave. I was hesitant a bit but advise them we leave it in the morning. When we check out at 11am the morning staff I am not sure on the name it may be Slyvain was rude and aggressive towards me and I didn’t feel safe to be there. Not a good exp

The hotel is really nice and area is great! Just one issue: I specifically requested for a 2nd level room as I don't want to stay on the ground level. Instead of putting me on the 2nd floor which is just one flight up, I was placed on the 3rd floor which was really disappointing. They explained that they use 0 as the ground floor, 1 for first, etc. But thing is, I didn't use FLOOR, I specified LEVEL. I even mentioned that I don't want too high as they didn't have elevators. I almost cancelled my reservation and looked for another hotel. My family calmed me down so we stayed.
