Hotel Osteria della Pista

This is a decent and inexpensive place to stay if you are heading to the Milan Malpensa airport the next day. It’s not near the center of Milan, but it’s about 15 minutes from the airport. We got there by taking the Malpensa Express train (run by Trenord) from Milan Centrale train station to Terminal 1 at the airport (30-40 minutes). Then the hotel shuttle driver picked us up. What we liked: The hotel was pretty clean and has a very good restaurant downstairs. The front desk staff was nice and helpful. It has an elevator. It’s the only room we saw in Italy with bunk beds, which gave it a hostel feel, but it’s great for a family of 4. The bathroom was a decent size. The shuttle drivers were pleasant and on time. What we didn’t like: The hotel is located in the middle of nowhere and was very basic. The hotel decor is dated and everything in it seems to revolve around horses. The breakfast was included but it gave us Hampton Inn vibes because much of it was processed items like muffins and little dessert cakes in packages, not fresh food. There was a coffee machine in the foyer for people who leave before breakfast, but it was not easy to use and there were no directions. You get what you pay for…if you want a more posh hotel, there is a nice Sheraton connected to Terminal 1 of the Malpensa airport.

We had a wonderful experience at the property. I had two kids with me. The staff responded to your enquiries very quickly. They were polite, professional, and warm. The room was clean and had modern amenities. I wasn’t bothered with one soap bar. I’m sure if I requested for another one, they would’ve happily given me another one. I love the convenience of the shuttle pick-up. I love the breakfast options with bacon, hard boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, cereals, and endless pastries. The dinner was so lovely. The staff was accommodating. The price was reasonable. I would definitely stay there again if I had so stay near the Malpensa airport.

Very professional, friendly. Treats you like family ! Doesn’t try to swindle you . I was sad to leave and will be staying here again . Thank you to all the staff .

This hotel has a great family friendly feel. We easily walked to it from the train station and they had a shuttle service to the airport. It also has a very popular restaurant connected downstairs for a bite to eat when you get in. The breakfast bar available to guests was also well stocked and delicious.

This hotel was very convenient to the airport. That being said, you can hear the airplanes taking off, so it was a little loud with the windows open in the early morning. My teenage kids were happy with the room, which had a bunk bed for them. This hotel has a lift, which was helpful! The food in the dining room was excellent and so was the breakfast. I didn't get the VIP perks because I don't think the hotel staff knew about them. I neglected to remember to ask.

They family that operates this property is outstanding. We called several times and they helped us each time making us feel very important. This was our last stop before heading back home but it was our favorite hotel. The restaurant and staff is outstanding. Will always come back if I get the chance.

We love this small hotel/Osteria near Malpensa. On our last visit we stayed at the on-premises airport hotel (terrible- couldn’t get dinner and breakfast awful), this Osteria is about a 15 minute drive in a small town. They have comp shuttle service. The lodgings are pretty good; wonderful dinner! I had pasta w baby clams in the shell - seasoned with a fish egg extract - very flavorful! We were given some comp limoncello after dinner.

Since discovering Osteria della Pista several years back, my family always makes this our final stop before coming home. The convenience of the shuttle lets us drop off our rental car the day before departure and then ride the shuttle to the airport in the morning. The town is cute with a bakery, meat shop and a great local restaurant down the hill at La Ratera. Osteria della Pista also has its own fabulous restaurant and a very good buffet breakfast. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff is wonderful.

Nice service, big familyroom and okay breakfast. The restaurant was amazing and food very tasty. Working shuttle service to airport. Recommended!

This place is a gem!! Plenty of space for my family of 4, fast and courteous airport transportation, friendly staff, and dinner was one of the best meals we had in Italy! Pizzas were huge and the desserts were sublime. The perfect way to end our trip before flying out of MXP!
