I do NOT recommend this hotel but I do recommend the restaurant. PROs - Great location for seeing the most popular sites. - Hidden gem of a rooftop restaurant and bar with outstanding food, service and a one of the best views in Rome. - Housekeeping was quick to help with an issue. CONs - Summertime issue... It lists AC but it barely works. Our room baked in the July sun and just could not cool down at night. They provided a fan but we could not get a good nights sleep. - I'm all for old, charming hotels but the fixtures, furniture and bed were dated rather than charming. - Given the issues above, this was ridiculously overpriced. A separate issue... I asked for help booking early morning "nice transportation" to the airport. I described needing a newer large SUV or van for the family and bags. (You see many of these in Rome.) The gentlemen seemed confident in helping with this. He quoted a high fare but given our discussion, it was expected. When we met the transportation, it was a old, dirty, smelly 3 row van. At that point, I didn't have options and just had to go. I was also forced to pay cash or add 20 Euros. Simply put, I felt cheated.

We could not have asked for a better Hotel to end our European vacation in Rome. The location and service are both outstanding. Although in two rooms our family of five had a blast to truly enjoyed cocktails at sunset on the roof and waking up to the Breakfast Buffet overlooking the city.

Our family has traveled to Rome 5 times over the years and Hotel Forum has the best location for the archeological sites. We spent 10 days this time. The staff is friendly and accommodating. You could pay triple the price for another hotel and not have the views and access that Hotel Forum offers. Most of the sites are within a 3 mile radius. The Coliseum and Archeological sites are literally across the street. Pantheon, is a 7 minute walk, Trevi Fountain a 10 minute walk and Spanish Steps 20 minutes, Even walking to the Vatican only took 30 minutes. We used Google walking maps. If you need to take the subway somewhere the Coliseum station about 4 blocks away has all the rail lines to get you where you want to go. Many restaurants and shopping also close by, whether you want Italian Designer stores or small shops it is all so close. The decor of Hotel Form is classically Roman. The rooms are nice and clean. The hot water for baths/showers and electricity very stable. Room was cleaned promptly after we would leave. The card key entrance very secure and also an in room safe. Hotel Forum is our “Roman Holiday Home”. We can’t wait for our next stay there.

We were very pleased with our stay, although we did not get the family room we had requested with two twin beds -- our teenagers thus had to share a sofa bed. It also has this quirky set-up where rooms in the back are only accessible if you take the elevator up to the 2nd floor, walk down the hall, and then take another elevator back down to the 1st floor. We got our steps in! The breakfast up on the roof was okay -- we only went up once -- but the views were spectacular. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall a wonderful stay.
