Arrived for a 1 night stay with family. After a 6.30pm checkin it was literally impossible to get food in any of the bars or restaurants...a staff member even recommended we go elsewhere. Reverted to room service and turned out the menu in the room was not the correct one and the kitchen was serving another menu...bizarre. on the upside, breakfast next morning was very good.

Quaint hotel in the adorable town of Dalkey. Easy parking for our rental. Nice refurbished family room with two queen beds and a good shower for our 2 teens and us. We had lunch and dinner on property and both had great service and food. It was very quiet with a wedding going on but when we checked out, the entire ground level was hopping with guests. Very cute town for a quiet stay before we head to Dublin.

We enjoyed 8 lovely nights in a family room. It was a spacious room, perfect for my husband and 2 year old. The hotel staff were friendly, the grounds lovely and having the coffee shop at the parking was AMAZING! We highly recommend this hotel!

Removed from the hussle and bussle of Dublin, but can get to Dublin in about 45 minutes by walking to the DART station in Dalkey (which is lovely, Matt Damon and his family had to quarantine at the start of Covid in Dalkey). AirCoach service to and from Dublin Airport makes getting there easy and far less expensive than a taxi current cost 17 euro. The park behind the hotel has stunning views and great walking paths. It is a bit of a hike to get from the Dalkey DART station up to the hotel so don't think about walking from there to the hotel with a lot of luggage. AirCoach drops you off and picks you up at the entrance to the hotel. We stayed on the top floor, room 519 and enjoyed it very much. The weird pipe dream shower assembly looked like an old phone and was a bit of a challenge for anyone from the US to figure out. The place is showing a little age, but in a way, that's part of its charm. Go to "The Dungeon" for a drink.

Comfortable hotel for people of all ages. This trip, I was solo and was just as comfortable as I’ve been with family. Wonderful grounds. Great pool and well equipped gym. My room could use some minor repairs but made up for it with a great view.

Stayed here with our two year old son for one night after flying in from Canada. The experience was great. The hotel has charm, and the staff are exceptional. Rooms are big and clean, very family friendly, food was great. Will definitely stay here again. The walking trails around the hotel were great.

The hotel lobby was charming and welcoming, as were the staff (very friendly). Overall, it’s a wonderful, historic hotel. But it wasn’t a perfect stay, by any means. The beds were horribly uncomfortable. The room, while incredibly spacious, was in need of a renovation (or at least a deep clean, with peeling wallpaper in places and mildew stains in the bathroom tile grout). The pool/sauna/steam room was amazing (very nice facility), but the family swimming hours were very poorly scheduled and meant that if our children wanted to swim, we couldn’t realistically leave the hotel until noon. Good fun if you just want to relax at a resort, but not ideal if you’re sightseeing. Combined with the rock-hard beds and shapeless pillows, this stay could have been better. Still, for an adult or couple without children, this would be a good option (as long as you’re happy to sleep on a mattress that feels like plywood with pillows harder than sandbags). New beds, comfortable pillows, some lipstick on the room itself and some changes to the pool hours to better allow guests to both use the amenities and see the sights, and this place would be truly exceptional. These are all easy fixes, so fingers crossed.
