We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely and convenient neighborhood. The kids really enjoyed a nearby rugby game.

The staff at Clayton Ballsbridge was excellent. Not so much for Clayton Cardiff. The building is beautiful. The area was clean and the neighborhood was safe and secure. I would absolutely stay at Ballsbridge again. Our only issue was other travelers misbehaved children which is not the hotels fault.

We had two rooms booked for our stay, one on the 3rd floor and the second on the 6th floor. We were very disappointed by the room on the 3rd floor and found the bathroom to be very grubby with old tiles and dated. The bathroom still had a shower curtain and looked like it had not been updated in years. Our 6th floor room was very comfortable and I found it hard to believe the difference in the two rooms. The hospitality and restaurant service was truely dissapointing and I would really like to feed this back to the management. We had reserved a table for 3 people in the Grandstand. The waiting staff did not acknowledge us for about 20 minutes and then did not come back with our drink order at all. After about 15 minutes I went up to the bar to collect our order as I could see it was sitting in the bar going flat. The waiting staff were running around and it was very chaotic. I also noticed other tables were receiving the wrong orders and it was quite an unsettling environment. The food itself was lukewarm and not worth the high price tag. There should also be a service lift for the hotel employees as I found the catering and bar staff were using the main lift with big trolleys which really slowed it down. Overall I would not reccomend this hotel to any friends family’s or colleagues and I also would not be returning.

Hotel is very impressive from outside. Rooms were ok but somewhat dated. We had booked a travel cot, had a late check in as my baby had an early morning hospital procedure planned. Arrived and there was no travel cot, phoned reception, they said they’d leave one up to the room, it was 11:30pm when we got there so I was very aware of the time. No cot appeared. I phoned back down. They said that they were sourcing it. Nothing happened. I phoned down again after midnight and reception never answered the phone. This resulted in sharing a bed with a baby which I never do which then lead to a very tired mammy and daddy the next morning with a very stressful emotional day ahead of them. Was very disappointed ☹️ To add to this the bed was rock hard and the pillows were horrible.

We would not choose this location for an extended stay as a family with younger children…but it was perfect as a place to rest before seeing the rest of Ireland. It’s in a central location, a really fantastic building, and had amenities for food. Rest, food and safety…all we needed to get over jet lag.

Nice grounds and a good location for meetings if you are going to be in the RDS area. Breakfast was very good but busy every day. Not convenient for seeing downtown, unless you plan on spending time on buses. The rooms are in need of major refreshing. There were no slippers provided, which I consider as a minimum standard for a 4* hotel. The rooms are also not equipped with A/C and only have windows with a small opening to let in air, and noise from the outside of course. Lastly, I was not offered a free upgrade (for Platinum members) even though I did ask and junior suites were available (I checked once I went to the room).
