We liked the location and aesthetics of this property, but the staff and service were not so great. All of our requests (such as extra toilet paper) required us asking multiple times. When I asked for a service that was listed in the guest services guide (charging postage stamps to our room), I was told the service was unable. Our room was also immediately above a very loud construction site - which woke us up every morning and also scared our young children. Also, food service in the bar lounge was extremely slow - once, it took them ~45 minutes to take our food order. When we asked concierge where to buy public bus tickets, they tried to sell us a hop on hop off bus ticket (~10x more expensive).

Room smelled like cigarettes and window was broken which is not safe when you have kids. For that price I would have expected a nicer room, especially considering ho nice the lobby and restaurant is. No one like a room that smells cigarettes

Upon arrival We asked to upgrade our room even if we had to pay more. They placed us on a “Presidential suite or junior suite” and this room was so dated that I felt I was back in the 80’s. The carpet was not cleaned, shower was extremely closed in, we had to put towels in the floor so we can keep the floor dried. Only one side of the bed in the room had outlets, no clock, no proper outlet to use the hair drier in the bathroom, we had to used the one by the desk. The room did not even have a small fridge, we needed ice and had to go to the front desk for it. The vending machine had water and soda…..all hot! We went for breakfast and we asked if we could order a la carte and we were told “yes” upon getting getting seated, we were told by a hotel server that we have to go by the kitchen to order omelets never mind having any hotel member come to our table either way it would not have matter because we were told only fried eggs or poached eggs No omelets! We were recommended to stay at this hotel by my daughter in law and we were completely disappointed. I have to say if you have not finished upgrading the rest of the hotel you SHOULD NEVER place anyone on those rooms all the way in the back! Every time we walk through the hallways to our room it felt like medieval times, dark, carpet smell. I can go on and on but I am sure it will not make a difference be a se you will continue to book those rooms. Below you ask to add photos that tells me you have no idea of your hotel

Took over 45 mins to check in, and when we did we were told our room wasnt even ready, with this we were running late for dinner and the show we were bringing our daughter to. We eventually got a room, opened the door, met with a bitterly cold roo., and tons of flys, we didnt have time to complain as we had to change and rush out to our dinner reservation, found the reception staff very unfriendly, we were only staying the one night but we had expected a little bit more for our money, we checked out early as i had very little sleep due to noise of doors slamming throughout the night, wouldnt recommend to family or friends and definitely not worth the money.

The room itself was extremely small, the bathroom had a ton of issues. The water did not drain out of the shower causing it to end up all over the bathroom floor. The steamer/iron did not work and the room got extremely hot when the sun was out with not thermostat or option to cool it down. Housekeeping was also an issue, our room was not serviced when we came back around 4pm both days and had to wait in the lobby for it to be finished. Would not recommend to family or friends and definitely would not stay again.

This was a family vacation and the Trinity City Hotel is a great place to stay in Dublin. It is located across the street from Trinity College and in close proximity to most touristic places (Temple Bar, Ha' Penny Bridge, Dublin Castle, etc.). It is also located very close to the Tara St. DART train station allowing some nice trips to Dublin suburbs. For the business traveler, WiFi internet was OK but the hotel does not have an office for guests. However, front desk staff will gladly print boarding passes. If more printing is needed it may be a problem. Will definitely stay there again.

There was a disgusting smell on the 2nd floor of this hotel during our stay - it hit you the minute you got off the elevator and stayed with you until you got to your room. Also, some of the rooms are air conditioned amd some are not - I booked three rooms for my family and 2 were airconditioned and my daughter's was not - it was like a sauna - the temp outside was in mid 50s but it was still very hot in the room - they open the windows and the flies come in and the streets are noisy - in the bathroom, the faucet water sprayed out of the sink, soaking not only you but the floor which created a hazard and needed to be toweled up every time one used the sink. When asked by staff upon check out, I expressed my disappointment - they said I would be getting an email from the manager - still waiting! The lobby is beautiful - but misleading as the rest of the hotel is not.
