I’m always a little leery booking boutique, budget-friendly hotels but this one was a very pleasant surprise. The reception staff was beyond friendly and check-in was a breeze. The room was small but thoughtfully-designed to make the most of the area. I had everything I needed and more (like color-changing mood lighting) and Dove personal care products. After a long day of travel with my toddler, it was glorious to shower and smell lovely. Speaking of my toddler, a crib was placed in our room prior to arrival so my little one could sleep safely. The lobby bar and restaurant was a cozy-yet-refined spot to grab a beer while I planned the next day’s adventure. The location is also perfect in that it’s close to pubs and restaurants as well as an Aldi and Tesco for snacks and fresh fruit. I wish I was staying in Dublin longer so I could enjoy the hotel a bit more but I will definitely book here on my next trip.

This is a great hotel for couples or individuals. It is in the heart of Dublin and more economical than other hotels. That being said, it is quite cramped. The beds were smaller than I was anticipating, like child size. They did the trick. Hotel is also very modern which was cool. Since we booked through a travel website, we didn’t get the breakfast included- which for it being continental I feel like it should apply for everyone. Overall ok stay, would not stay long term.

The building is new and very clean, with helpful and attentive staff. Rooms were a little tight for space though. It was challenging to walk to the other side of the room without knocking the TV or phone off the wall with my shoulder. The internet was speedy, but no desk and poor lighting made it impossible to work in my room. The window in my room opened, but the outside was noisy and smelly. I found the lounge on the first floor inviting and that is where I did most of my work, but it was challenging to use the space the evenings because of the dim nightclub like lighting. The neighborhood was on the edge of the more civilized parts of town and seemed a bit sketchy. There were a fair number of people on the streets surrounding the hotel, looking for a handout. If you wander away from the main traffic areas, especially late in the day, you could find the occasional addict shooting up in an adjacent alley. Though I never felt unsafe, it was always a bit off-putting. Also, I received lots of hugs and solicitations for money by what seemed to be chatty and friendly homeless people. I would would not recommend the neighborhood for families, because some of the street people are just a bit scary. However, some of the best shopping in Dublin was only a few blocks away. So, there are certainly some nice areas in the general vicinity. According to the locals, the neighborhood is rapidly improving. In a pinch I would stay at the Point A again, but my tendency is to look elsewhere.
