Salthill Hotel

Overall, Salt Hill is a decent hotel. Plusses were very comfortable beds, view from the room (if you face the water), good breakfast, and a noon check-out. Location across the street from the water is excellent if you have kids. Getting into Galway is simple with a taxi or bus. However, the hotel is a bit tired in decor and furnishings and carpeting. There is no option to charge your bill for the hotel bar to your room, so you have to pay each time. Also, the gym is not open to anyone under 18 and this was a disappointment to our teens who work out regularly at home. Also, no one under 18 after 7PM in the whole pool area! There are a lot of steps to go through if you want to use the pool: sign-in, get a code, buy swim caps, wear booties etc.

I had a bit of a rough go of it getting to Galway and with communication when my phone (only way of reaching emails and family) completely died but the staff at the hotel went above and beyond to help me, giving advice, sorting all my transportation and flight check-ins and trying to save my phone. Loved them and will stay there again when I can make it back to Galway!!!

Grand place. Rooms are cramped.requested a cot bed for the baby and didn’t get one. Drink is pretty expensive but majority of hotels are now.

Couldn't check in until 4 because the room wasn't ready, we have an 11 month old baby and it wasn't ideal after driving 3 hours to get there. The service at the bar was very poor, we waited to get food for an hour before anyone came over to take the order while we waited on the room to become available, again not ideal with an 11 month old that was getting agitated.
