I spent 1.5 hours checking in because the confirmed family rooms I booked were not available. To accommodate my party, due to the hotel’s mistake, I was offered a third room that I would need to pay for at full price. I escalsted to hotel staff and managers who stated this was the only option. Around the 1 hour mark a woman checked in to a family room (which I was told was not available even though I had a confirmed booking). However, her rate was over €150 more per night than the rate I booked. Eventually the hotel offered me a double double room, which was not a double double room and was the size of a closet (at the same price). Our second unavailable family room was given a double double that was significantly larger and with larger beds. The hotel kept telling me it was not their problem, but also admitted that their system had an error, but even so they couldn’t just give me a “free” room to accommodate my party. I discussed with Orbitz a discount which I am still waiting for the email confirmation that this will happen over 24 hours later. Overall would not book this hotel due to their horrendous service from their staff. The rooms could also use a deep clean.

I booked a family room for 2 adults & 2 children but when I arrived the room only had one double bed & one single bed. I had to ask for an additional bed which did come but was a very small camp bed. Dont think this is really good enough considering the cost of the room.

The location is excellent for exploring the city. But when we booked through this app there was an issue with reservation but it was confirmed on your end.there is a lady who owns iona and she tried messaging me on here asking when I'd arrive. When I didn't reply she went home for the night. My kids were in a busy shifty area at night.

We stayed here for a week with our family of 4, and the staff and management were so accommodating to all our requests. We found the hotel so convenient to walk to the Arts festival festivities going on in Galway, we cant wait to go back next year. We received a complimentary upgrade to a family room, and a complimentary box of chocolates for the children, which was so nice of them to do. The General Manager was so kind and professional in welcoming us, greeting us throughout the week while coming and going at different times, we felt he was probably the best manager we have seen in years , as we traveled from California to Italy for a week, and a week in Galway, its so nice to see a well run, professional, clean, and highly trained staff at the hotel.

This hotel is centrally located in Galway. Perfect for parking the car and walking anywhere you want to go. My toddler had a medical emergency during our stay and the staff was fast acting and compassionate.

We’ve stayed here many times, especially when family is visiting as it’s a great base to explore the city. However, we won’t be returning. The stay was very disappointing. The room wasn’t ready for multiple hours after the check-in time, and when we did receive access, it wasn’t very clean. The most disappointing, however, was that the room was extremely hot and we weren’t able to sleep. The whole first floor of the hotel is being renovated— and as such the ac / air flow is completely off. The windows opened just a crack, and while we were given a fan, it was not enough to cool the room off — even at night. The management knew this was the case, and yet made no mention of it on Expedia. We tried to get another room, which there weren’t any. We then tried to get a refund, which we were refused. There wasn’t an apology or any effort to remedy our problem. We felt uncomfortable the whole time, and honestly, cheated. It was a bad experience.

Property was under construction. Courtyard was closed. View from window was of construction materials. Woken up from noise of construction. Parking was horrendous. Traveling with elderly and baby and difficult to get in and out with bags. No elevator to car garage

Great location and helpful staff (we were originally put in the wrong room without enough beds for our family and they were super helpful in fixing the mistake), but the hotel overall feels a bit rundown and past it’s prime. The carpets were old and grimy, the bathrooms were not the cleanest, the beds were a bit lumpy, etc. Fine hotel for a few nights of traveling but not what I’d expect for four stars.

We had to wait 2 hours after official check in for our family room to be ready. Other groups were being checked in at 4pm as stated. We understand it’s difficult post covid but expectations weren’t managed appropriately, especially as our son is only 7. Glasses in bathroom dirty and for 165 euros and no breakfast we found it extremely disappointing. 4 stars it isn’t.

This hotel delivered everything we needed for a family short stay. The staff were both friendly and responsive. The room was clean and comfortable, not spacious but the lovely view made up for it. The breakfast was good and parking is right next door.
