Home 2 days early from what was meant to be a 4 night stay. Highly disappointing. Check in was just ok, no explanation of where amenities were. Room was clean and comfortable although the window was broken but left an air and noise gap facing a very busy road. We made our way to the tiny pool only to be asked to leave shortly as kids had to be out for 7pm. No one informed us. Room service again another issue. Unable to order kids meals, firstly no menu on the ordering system, waited 20 min for a call back from restaurant to be told i dont know as room service goes to different kitchen. Reception didn't know either. Ended up ordering adult goujans and chip at 19euro which were cheap frozen goujans. Very disappointing. I had steak sandwich. It was lovely. Next morning the room was like a furnace. Air con broken. Maintenance tried to fix it. Ended up packing up to move room and again another mess. Left them for the afternoon only to return to be given key cards to our room but housekeeping was only starting the room and didn't know we were due in. We had to wait downstairs again and then got a call to say our room was ready. Luggage arrived shortly. Air con now broken in this room. Told it whole hotel but Maintenance said our room and 1 other not fixed. Top it off the plumbing noise when other rooms were using facilities ended up with loud screeching from our bathroom. Rang reception. Couldnt help. Continued through the night til morn. Very litte sleep. Very sad kids and mam

Worst night i ever experienced. Staying with my wife and 2 year old. There was a wedding in the hotel on the same day. We were all woken around 3:30am due to a row in the corridor which escaleted into the room next to us with doors being kicked in and stuff being thrown around and screaming and shouting. My wife contacted reception who came up and removed one party. 10 mins later another person was inthe next room and another verbal row ensued before around 5am original party was allowed back up where further verbals continued. Only reason i stayed is we got our toddler back asleep eventually. Myself and my wife who is also pregnant had no sleep. On checkout it turned out our floor was not the only one with issues with a number of people complaining. We spoke to duty manager that morning who offered us a complimentary stay including meals and a refund but have yet to hear anything from the hotel - we stayed 20.07.2024 and its now 26.07.2024 as im posting this and not as much as an email. Terible experience

Nice hotel, good food at the bar, but the noise from the highway was very loud in our room. The pool was closed at 7:00 pm for children (the sun goes down at 10:30) when we arrived from a long day on the road. This was really disappointing since we had reserved at this hotel for the pool facility. Having known this, we would have reserved a hotel downtown. Our children are 9 and 13. They could have made a special for us.

Our family loved our stay! Bit of a drive from town but we had a car so it was fine. Excellent grocery store across the street. Pool was warm and spacious - HUGE hit with our kids! Breakfast was delicious but didn’t think it’d be worth the cost if it hadn’t been included with our particular room. Rooms are spacious and clean, staff wonderful. Would happily return.

My partner and I and our toddler booked a night away for a treat as the hotel was recommended to us. We were put in an interconnecting room which we were not made aware of at check in and had guests on the other side. In the evening we had knocking on our interconnecting door around 11pm and again a few minutes later. The phone in our room rang and it was the duty manager to inform me that there was a noise report of screaming from our room i have a 3 year old toddler so there was no screaming at 11pm at night. Again around 12pm there was 3 very loud bangs on our door and another report put in about our room. My 3 year old had been woken from her sleep to the banging and was frightened to go back to sleep I reported this to reception and we did not hear anymore banging after that. All in all it ruined our night away with our toddler which started off as a lovely evening relaxing in the pool until 7pm with her. It has frightened our toddler to go to another hotel to have the same experience again.

We loved the room. It was roomy, pretty clean and comfortable. However, this hotel must be going through an identity crisis. Management needs to decide whether it is a hotel or a nightclub. You CANNOT cater to both. We were on the 3rd floor and two floors below us there was a party going on and all we could hear (and feel) was the bass from the music. I finally called the front desk just before 1 AM asking when the music would be turned down/off. The front desk attendant apologized and said it was a 21st birthday party that was going until 2 AM. I had my 3 children with me and they finally fell asleep a little before 2 AM. I was up until after 2 AM because once the music ended the party spilled out into the area just outside the main entrance of the hotel and drunk partygoers were being very loud just below our window. What kind of a hotel thinks hosting a party with loud music until 2 AM is a good idea? Unfortunately, this hotel is all about making a profit and not about the comfort of their guests. I would think that most hotel guests expect a quiet, comfortable place to sleep when making a reservation. I don’t think that is too much to ask.

Check in was 16:00. Ok, busy period and wasn’t a big deal but it could only get worse. Tried to get a menu from the Bistro but 4/5 young bar tenders have no intention of serving you, head down to avoid eye contact. Bar manager or supervisor was busy and felt sorry for him, running around trying to cater guests and babysit his fellow employees at the same time. Got a family room and unfortunately it was above the ball room so got to listen to the DJ downstairs from our room. We were going to attend breakfast the next morning but when the bar tender says she cant make coffee with an extra shot, we decided to venture elsewhere. While the Clayton isn’t entirely at fault and society has a major problem going forward with kids not having the initiative, you would seriously question the integrity of the 4 star system. On a plus note, food from the Bistro was really good and receptionists were very pro active.

3 staff couldnt tell me the correct time for the lesuire facilty on the sunday morning, i got told three different opening times, which hampered my schedule with my kids who id travelled long distance to visit, the information leaflet should be updated with correct times and all staff properly trained with correct information instead of guessing and giving the incorrect information out to patrons, who might i add paid alot of hard earned money for a room.

We had a lovely two night stay in the family room. Spacious room and bathroom. We really loved the food in the bar and ate there both nights. The pool was perfect and the sauna and steam room were an extra bonus
