Menlo Park Hotel

The best property we stayed in in Ireland. We have a 10month old baby, and the staff was very helpful. Very quiet clean rooms

Staff allowed a screaming child to stay in the restaurant for hours forcing guests to listen to that during our entire meal. The family was sitting in the restaurant for hours.

Room was dirty and extremely hot with no way to turn the temp down. Loud banging and drill sound throughout the night, alerted the front desk and they sent a man to investigate. At 2200 he woke up my wife and toddler and turned on all the lights in our room, blaming the white noise machine we were using to mask the banging for the loudness. The whole experience was absurd and he clearly was covering up for something. The front desk staff were fine to deal with but took the guys word for the problem. Just stayed up until morning when we could leave. The only redeeming thing was the breakfast. Stay away unless you want a loud room with no climate control.

My wife and I enjoyed ten previous visits as non residents here since it opened for lunch, dinner, evening drinks etc. Delighted to be able to stay here to meet and entertain family over two days. Very friendly reception staff, helpful throughout our stay, upgraded us to an excellent "Signature Room" part of an ongoing refurbishment process. Enjoyed a great dinner with family members in the "bar restaurant"/Bistro. Lovely food, all dietary considerations dealt with and good service provided by the staff. Directed to the residents lounge for drinks afterward. Good bar service in general. However our relaxation spoiled on both nights by being asked to finish off our drinks after midnight in the lobby area. Got the impression on the second night in particular that night management just wanted to be rid of us. Didn't think they knew what "hospitality" meant. The hotel lobby is not a comfortable area to sit and chat in. I felt our enjoyment was being sacrificed for the convenience of the hotel going against all our good other treatment in the hotel. Perhaps I caught the night management on a bad evening. We did not experience being exiled to the lobby at any of our other venues on this trip. For this reason can only give it a 3 star rating despite otherwise interacting with lovely staff.

Nice staying with my family. The breakfast is impressive.
